I know sone of you will laugh and call me all kinds of things but if you don't ask you'll never know. Is there a difference between a turbo head and a non turbo if so what are they. Please don't reply if your guessing because I could ask my wife if I want a guess lol.

now you see my issue

No sludge found. Engine was fine one minute then knocking the next and the knock didn't show under load ie I wasn't skidding racing etc I done a routine oil change started the car and it appeared yes the oil levels are correct.

I was lead to believe blocked pickup reduction in oil availability to the top of the engine cause the knock. Sump removal is cheapest option oil and some black maxxxxx is why I went that route rather than changing parts one after the other.

Okay it's a solid knocking not a squeak sounds like it's coming from that head.

2009 G6E. 240xxx kms ZF 6 speed auto. Stock tune. Middle muffler removed. Battery relocation with air intake changed. 15/40 mineral oil. Filter is snug. No oil light. No engine light. No dash light issues.

I changed oil to the recommended by ford. Sump of as we thought it was a blocked pickup as that's the cheapest of all my options pickup was removed and cleaned reinstalled I'm thinking next is head is coming off for a service.

Nothing just oil and filter just the normal oil spillage and I cleaned that up.

Hi all I'm hoping someone can help as im at a loss here is the story. I run 15/40 oil. I did an oil change like I've done hundreds of times before everything was fine then the following starting happening. On first startup I get a knocking sound from the head maybe 5 seconds then it stops or if I'm driving around in the 60 zone and hold 2nd around 2/2500k rpm I get the same sound go to 3k and it stops it was perfectly fine themn started doing it wasn't a gradual thing. I've also notice the smell of oil like I had an oily hand on the exhaust then started the car. I know it's not a blocked pickup because I just had the sump of and cleaned it any help would be appreciated.
