  1. Just an update cause I see a few guys get upset when you don't check in. Re gapped plugs to 0.8 with no change and No fix as of yet car is hopefully going into mechanics this week get it all sorted HOPEFULLY!!
  2. That would be awesome mate, hopefully a simple fix. good luck with it all
  3. Not sure if this will help with my query but when it's spurting, shuddering or misfiring whatever it is I can faintly see the cluster lights on the dash light up
  4. No pic ATM but can get one . Thought I would take it for a drive this afternoon when to take off in first gear it backfired and was running really bad sputtering and feeling really jolty .turned the car Off and then on an went back to normal but now seems to be misfiring/shaking at 3500-4000 rpm with not much acceleration but seems to come good once over 4000 rpm . . Don't really want to create any more damage to the girl, with my work hours it's hard to find time to spend on the ute will defiantly try the re gap sparkies and throw genuine coils in and am hoping that will sort it all out
  5. Thanks for the reply guys... so I'll regap the plugs and see if it changes if not I'll purchase genuine coils and hope for the best ... It just seems to be one thing after the other atm. Also Engine seems to be getting really hot really quick but reads fine on the temp gauge . Open up the bonnet after 10 mins of driving and the heat in there is unbelievable! I need to re route the air filter for the turbo as it sits above the exhaust manifold, this was that from previous owner, all I can see that doing is sucking in hot air
  6. Thanks mate. yeah when the exhaust was blocked and the car wasn't breathing I had no missfire, mind u this was after a coil and spark change aswell. So 6 new aftermarket coils and 6 NGK plugs were installed. Like you said now the car is breathing again I have the missfire issue under load. Looks like my next step is to put genuine coils in ? I have also been told maybe starving for fuel ?
  7. From memory NGK Laser iridium and standard gap
  8. The coils I pulled out of it in the first place where genuin coils and had the same issue. Defiantly don't want the cat melting down again
  9. Sorry for the late reply, have been extremely busy with work. The car issues were only sorted as of yesterday. The Exhaust was the problem overall. Myself unbolting it from infornt of the cat and not fully removing it wasn't sufficient enough to receive the power back. New highflow cat installed and pipes has got the car boosting again! The old cat was completely melted inside and had blocked the inlet and the outlet pipes. So now I have all power back and after replacing coils and sparks I'm still getting missfire/backfire loss of power at around 3500 rpm -4500rpm under load . Overboosting?
  10. Took the exhaust off from infront of the cat with no real change in performance did notice aswell a wire/ sensor behind the engine on the exhaust side that has completely melted. I wouldn't have any idea what it's for but seems to be connected to or runs with the wires connected to the coils. Will have a closer look after work
  11. Thanks mate I'll give it a go this afternoon and see how it goes
  12. Flutter out the wastegate has become very quite aswell. Also taking and extra 1000 or so revs from normal to even start winding up and boost is very minimal. from the checks last night turbo spins smoothly with no unusual sound once winding down.spins freely with no movement on turbine or noise, no signs of rubbing or warn blades. All bolts also seem to be in order. Pipeing is all aftermarket and doesn't cross the top of the engine so to remove the cover to reach Sparks and coils no pipes are disrupted or disconnected . Exhausts was checked just by removing the 02 sensor on dump pipe with no change, this afternoon I will remove exhaust before the cat and hope for the best .
  13. Still at a loss checked all hoseing for vacuum leak found nothing, inspected turbo and exhaust seems to be all in order checked coils and sparks fitting ect still no fix
  14. Appreciate the help guys . Engine oil is at normal levels there has been rattling coming from the cat which I will be looking into this afternoon could possible be a blockage but strange that it was instantaneous after coils, sparks, service ect I'm hoping for simple solution
  15. Yes both plugs in correctly either side of coil #1 the car was misfiring at 4000 prior to change which has now been eliminated but now has a lack of power/boost
