Yer I think they may have change the oil in my gearbox or at least topped it up but I think it will probably only be a temporary fix I was driving it again today and could feel some faint signs of it coming back. Thanks for the suggestions

Hi everyone just wanted to now do ford only put oil into the gearboxs when they services them or do they put lube aswell? As I have had my gears crunching at the end of the gear with my cluth fully engaged (in 3rd mostly). I took it in for them to have a look at and they claimed there was no problem and sure enough when I drove it when I pick it up it drives fine, but it was stuffed before. What do you think they have done, any ideas of what I can do?

mines the same.... 1st to 2nd... on a real cold morning it sorta grinds in complained about this to ford at 3000km complimetary check up thingo but they said it should losen up... I now have 20000km and its still there but only in winter... will see what happens at 30000km ← Sounds like you have had the same problem as me, I took it to ford and they decided that it was the sycros. They took the gearbox out and sent it off to get fixed they had to replace the sycros in 2nd and 3rd, and they replaced 3rd because it was ground down a bit. But I have got the car back and it seems as though the problem is still there, I called ford and he said to see if its goes away after 500kms and then to come and see him. By the way all this work was covered by waranty. You should take your car in and get them to drive it.

I'm looking for performance, I have thought about swaping the centre muffler but I think I would rather get a full system put in I jus dont want to spend $3000 for an exhaust. How much of a gain am I looking at if I just do the swap and can anything go wrong?

I really want to get an exhaust put on my xr6t but I dont really want to spend all that money getting a aps one, but I want a similar gain in performance. Is there any others, or a place that would be good to get one made up in melbourne that anyone knows of? Thanks Matt
