Look Whos Back! And...
If you are going to 'relocate' in order to get cheaper custom plates, I'd suggest the A.C.T. They have a one off fee which varies depending on the content, but basically for $1600 it seems you can choose your colour, choose your letters/numbers, add diamonds or spaces whereever you like, add your own logo and add your own slogan. I found that pretty cool. Correct me if I am wrong, but if you lie about the location of the vehicle for registration purposes, does this not void your insurance?

Sunroof
Thanks for the advice, problem is that I can't find any dealers who actually stock XR's with a sunroof. No point in them putting the sunroof in the car until its been ordered

Sunroof
I'm actually 6'4.... I had a chat with the dealer today and he was basically "guarranting" me that height wouldn't be an issue.. can you (or anyone else) give me some advice on this then? When I sit in the T, it seems like I have plenty of space above my head, so how come I keep reading about people having height issues with sunroofs?

Sunroof
Cheers you two. Can't see any reason not to get one now

I was gonna get it factory... so I guess this shouldn't mean too much drama. any idea how long they take to put in? I was gonna get a run out xr6t which will apparently take 1-2 weeks for delivery, how much longer if I get them to throw a sunroof on it?

Should We Become A Club?
First of all, I want to thank you for a great site. I'm about 2 weeks away from getting my new BF xr6t, and this forum has been extremely helpful in me making that decision. I just want to advise a bit of caution with making 'exclusive' areas on the forums. My experience with forums, is that there generally tends to be one section in which about 95% of all communication takes place. This is because it is simply much easier for someone to keep track of the posts in one section and ignore the rest. Clearly, on this site this popular place is the xr6T board. If you want to create an exclusive board, you need to consider whether you wish for 95% of the total posts to go on this exclusive board, which will discourage newer members from joining as the forums will not seem as useful at first glance, or would you prefer the 95% of discussion to continue taking place on the xr6t board, which sort of makes the exclusive one redundant? Anyway... I voted yes to a club, and I'd be more than happy to pay for that even if just for the occasional cruise/bbq or whatever.. just try to organise it such that politics is kept to a minimum <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cj's post was 3 years ago.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I noticed this just after I added the reply... was sort of hoping I would be the only one

I'm considering getting a sunroof, however im a bit worried that this is just another set of seals which can leak in the future. How common are leaking sunroofs nowdays? Any other issues to consider before getting one? (other than headroom)

Considering A Bf Typhoon
You don't like the start button? That's one of the main things which attracts me to consider an F6, (more for novelty value than anything else). What is it which you don't like about that? (Like you, I think I'd De badge it as much as I can).

Considering A Bf Typhoon
if by lux pack, you are talking about the luxury interior option, I am pretty sure that this only includes Prem. Sound, Sports leather seats and Prem. ICC, no side airbags (altho as you say, they are still an option).

Considering A Bf Typhoon
perfect! this is exactly the type of info I was after. Thanks mate.

Considering A Bf Typhoon
So many people have said that the phoon is better... I am yet to see any actual description of 'how' it is better. (I'm trying to make the same choice, so this would be very helpful!) Any chance that you could elaborate? cheers

Bf Typhoon Prices
Thanks for the reply. I've been looking around at buying a BF T for quite a while, and worked out that what I want including extras would cost around $56K RRP. I have talked to a few dealers and haev so far been quoted $52K for this setup, and should be able to get more off that. I figure that the F6 looks nicer, and isn't a huge leap in price from RRP of 56K to an auto F6 at 61K, so just curious to know how flexible dealers have been with their pricing for other people. I'll start enquiring with dealers about the prices on these beauties over the coming week or two so wanted to know a base point to start with. (As an aside, how do the standard phoon seats compare with sports leather seats?) I'd get it through a novated lease, so not too worried about insurance, gst, rego etc.. just yet

Bf Typhoon Prices
How much should I expect to pay for a 2005 plated BF typhoon (auto)? advertised retail price seems to be ~$61K, has anyone brought this down to around $55? Just after ballpark figures please. Cheers.

Can't see anything which isn't standard.... ...oh the bottle of water!

Multiple Purchases
It seems like there are a few of us on here who are interested in buying new cars, I was wondering if it would make sense to try and get them together at a discount? I haven't seen people try this before, but surely it would work.... right?

1:18 Models Of Falcons
Try hobbyco (www.hobbyco.com.au), if they don't have it in stock, they could probably order one in for you.
-
Bf Xr6t Pricing
Looks like a reasonable price to me. I was quoted 52K with similar options but luxury interior, which makes up the 4K difference. Who are you getting this through? (I'm still looking for the best price). Thanks to the person who recommended privatefleet.com.au, I got in touch with them and they do seem very helpful.

Bf Xr6t Pricing
Where are you getting this from? Bear in mind that if you go for a 2005 model, you will get the $2000 cashback. I am also shopping around for the best price for an auto BF XR6T, I got a quote from a leasing company (SMB.com.au) which gives a fleet discount and removes GST, and I have been using this as a base price to bargain from. I have had reasonable success so far, so you might wish to try something similar, even if you aren't able to actually get the lease.

Help Me By Helping Yourself...
Can someone please help me save money by buying the XR6TBF plate. Ever since I found out that licence plates can go on a novated lease, Ive been tempted to spend the cash on it when I really know I shouldn't. It's a class plate, so go and get it.

Premium Icc
Cool, I'm thinking of getting the lux. pack and 18" alloys. Anything else I'd want to consider? (I want to keep it stock for at least 3 years).

Premium Icc
The reason for my question is that (using fords website), you can option Sports seats + Premium Sound individually for around $3500, or you can get the Luxury Interior Package (Premium Sound, Sports Seats and Premium ICC) for $4500. I'm wondering what difference the ICC itself makes, and whether it is better to buy the package with all 3 for $1000 more, or just get the seats and sound separately.
