Well that's a bummer :-/ CYAMTE plates are for sale too if anyone is keen haha
-
There is one in my town, I'm in love with it. Noticed 2-3 for sale at stages, last no longer than a few days Fpv doing a FGx range at all?? I should probably know this but it's a brave new world this Ford stuff for me!
-
Yeh there are some seriously questionable cars out there. I'll get the wedding paid for first then look at a FG/fg-X or if a majestic F6e pops up I'll see if I can snap it up! They don't come up very often though
-
Damn HTC went into meltdown halfway thru posting hahaha
-
Cheers! Want the experience to be a good one, that's why I'll wait till something good comes along.

yeh was pretty bummed, but wont settle for second best. yeh g6e turbo maybe on the cards or maybe an F6e if they pop up for sale!
-
So the car was a no go. Had been hit HARD in the rear at some stage. Job was not bad but noticeable. The service book didn't match up (supposedly done 2000KS in 2 years). It didn't drive nice felt it hesitate when pulling up to an intersection and taking off and a lot of the fixes done in rwc where something you'd see in a higher KS car (tail shaft centre bearing ect) so I'm back on the hunt! May hold off and get an fg! Although it won't stop me searching everyday!

I was thinking north nsw??? Hear the fishing is always good there!! Just do a Google Search on them ask around (like you are) and maybe go down for a chat get a feel for them
-
Oh n we are both born in late June WTF hahaha Yes that car was on my mind also! Good buy man! Good luck with her. Mines going straight to pitlane... Then we unleash hell!
-
freaky moment when im NathEn B not nathAn B LOL and we both looking at xr6ts ... yeh im hoping this one is the one @NathanB im very picky!
-
yeh ill be using the good stuff for servicing! if I could throw a new oil feed line on her before she was driven home I would!!! the fg turbos are great! but the budget couldnt fit an fg in. yeh ill do some hunting round find a good place n go from there!
-
ill check the dates on service see how that goes. not too worried about that but would be nice if she is date serviced not k's. he said hes done the last couple himself (hes a maintenance fitter as well and he's dad own a mechanics shop). ill get a feel for what he knows ect when I meet him. diff bushes are a common thing but with my best mate being a bursons manager I get the things I need cheap cheap ill be nice to her til I choose a mechanic/tuner to take it too, fit an aftermarket oil feed line (heard these can be painful if not done) and get a service done regardless of when the last one is done. cant wait to own/drive one. always wanted one! do you guys do drive days ect??
-
Yeh she's a 6 speed BF mk1 03/06 build, was looking at BA's but was really interested. Then this one came along and well deposit is down and going to look at it and if it's all good I'll drive it home!

This one seems really nice, only 84xxxks on her so its well below the average. owned by an older bloke so im hoping it isnt too abused. used www.etis.ford.com and it said it has "high series brakes" I'm OCD when it comes to maintenance (being a maintenance fitter myself) first thing is to find a good mechanic/tuner in my area take her there for a service and the oil feed line replacement. then go from there I suppose! Phantom is a nice colour! *drools*

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/_/SSE-AD-3810262 here's the car the bloke has agreed to my offer pending an inspection on Saturday. Fair drive to go see/get it but at least I could be driving back with a huge grin on my face! Already nicknamed the purple monkey dishwasher

Hey guys! I've been a member on here for a while! (made an acc when I was going to buy a G6et) But I decided it was a good idea to pop the question (she said yes), make lil babies (will happen after wedding in '17 now) and car got put on the back burner. til I snapped one day driving my 99 camry wagon n said *beep* this I need a weekender again. the missus gave in and the hunt began so I hunted round and I've found a nice purple BF (build date is 03/06 I think he said) xr6t with only 84xxxks on it auto trans wont be daily driven, looking for a mild amount of power say low 300's (missus wouldnt be too happy is future kid it driven round in a monster) is it worth paying the extra 2-3k and get the 6 speed in the BF even though it may not have the stronger internals (06/06 was the magic F6 internals number yeh??) or would the BF be a more fun/reliable platform for 300rwks over a BA I or II Cheers guys! Nathen

Yeh I'm located in Frankston so it would be great to have a tuner just around the corner!!! Thanks guys! And I do agree, alot of positive stuff on this forum!!!!
-
Yeh this is the issue I'm having, I'm bot sure how I would go about tuning ect I'm sure someone on here has nutted it out and knows the path to take!!
-
Gday lads! The grey one sold and had not found another G6et til now.... This one though runs a JTG icom gas injection kit and petrol I have a few questions!!! Can I run it on gas for the rest of its life?? or running on both more optimal?? can I still get it tuned, PW cooler and piping ect?? Just a little hesitant on it being dual fuel ect Any info is helpful
-
yeh im not 100% sure on that, if I have any issues I just ask the missus, shes a beast when it comes to law haha. She test drove the same car on Saturday, got her seal of approval on the condition she can drive it to work once or twice a week AND that the ute is gone before I buy, she gave it a 9/10 lost one point for not being Seduce red LOL. The look on her face when she felt boost for the first time was priceless
-
Cheers mate! yeh gary is a great Lsx tuner and mechanic, kept the ute in great nic, will have to drop by and ask him if hys dyno like the blue oval type of car
-
yeh been looking at mods for the car (I havent even got it yet and I want more power hahaha) those stepped coolers look a treat and injectors is a must for 300-320 rwkw by the sounds of it, then a tune/air box edit and possible exhaust, see how far we can go, woul like to keep the standard exhaust and just get a cat (meow) for it. But it looks like this has been talked about over and over in this forum so ill just grab bits n pieces where I can from info already written. hard thing is finding a tuner down in SE suburbs here in Vic!! guy I go to is Lsx only really, but he may want something different!!
-
yeh it has its plus side, but I like gettin a stock car and getting the mods done myself whilst creating a good relationship with the tuner/mechanic and that way I know they are done properly and know the timeline for major services ect, and going thru a dealership just for that added warranty security, and only going thru good dealerships who sell good cars, can be a bit of the unknown going the private, if I bought one thru private it would have to be thru an older bloke who has kept it in cotton wool, what can I say.. im picky lol. Ute is off getting final inspection and full detaIl inside and out before going up for sale, hoping to sell her quick!
