  1. SteveO I nearly went with Ego but finally decided on the Black. Do you have any pics of your car. I've never owned a V8 but have driven my mates SS ute (250 RWkW), great engine too, just different to the turbo. We really are spoilt in this country for great value performance vehicles.
  2. Thanks guys. My BA was in Lightning strike which I think was a good colour for that model but I didn't think it suited the FG. Maybe I'm missing them, but I still haven't seen another FG XR6T on the road. I have seen a few NA XR6's, and everybody is having a good look when I'm driving around so I'm guessing there still isn't that many FG T's on the road yet. Had the windows tinted today which has made a huge difference. I don't know why all new cars don't come standard with tint, especially here in QLD. Cheers.
  3. Hello All; I've had my new FG XR6T for week now and am lovin it. We ordered an auto, with luxury pack and tech pack in silhouette. We were looking at both the XR6T and the G6E Turbo, but the G6E was just a little to soft. I had an '04 BA XR6T 5 speed manual previously and this new car is just awesome. The BA was good going fast but as a daily driver it used to drive me nuts. However the new car goes even better when pushed hard, and it is a thousand times better when you just want to take it easy. Hopefully I can upload some photos, apologies if it does not work. Still waiting on window tint which should happen next week. All the gadgets with this new car are great, iPod works well as does the Bluetooth phone intergration. The ride on the 19's is firm but not harsh. The auto gearbox is magic, and the more I drive the car the better I am understanding how to drive with it compared to the manual. It will hold gears and the noise the engine makes when the engine cut out happens on gear changes during hard acceleration is fantastic. Still getting used to the brakes, they seem adequate and better than the BA, but I think they require more pressure than the previous model. All in all, one happy camper.

xrboss8 The T5 is a concern and that's why I would want to limit max power to about 240rwkw. However, I think you are correct in that the T5 will be the limiting factor in my modification journey, maybe I'll end up with something in between option A option B. Cheers Matt.

Hi All; This is my first post on this forum, but I couldn't resist this topic. I have a 2004 MKI T5 XR6T which I purchased second hand in October last year. Been checking the site since then and have learnt a lot. You guys are obviously passionate about these cars. Jordak this is a great topic for someone like me looking at options for modifications. I have decided on the edit, but from wat I can tell not all edits are the same and you have very clearly shown the options here. My preference would be for option B, maybe with a slightly lower peak power of about 240 rwkw. For a given speed (RPM) the engine can only deliver more power through an increase in torque, and this is shown via the higher boost pressures. The reason I got an XR6T was as an alternative to the more expensive XR8 (more than happy with the T though), so this "torqueness" and in gear "low down" power I think would simulate this nicely. Again great site Cheers Matt
