New Nt Get Together
They've been threatening to do that for years..... it's a govenment changer..there just aren't enough cops here to enforce it either. ← Well looks like you guys are getting speed limits after all Saw a story on Channel 2 about it. At least it's 130km/hr limit and not 100km/h but still, on most of the out of town roads, it's gonna seem like 30km/h Geez, you are even getting a demerit point system. What will they think of next? Making running through red lights illegal in NT? Surely not................?????????

Firestone Tz100 Tyres
For 235/45X17's, I've been quoted only $185 per tyre which doesn't seem bad

Firestone Tz100 Tyres
Looking at some new tyres. Was recommended to try Firestone TZ100. Has anyone tried these? Any opinions?

Speedo Not Working
Have a look at my previous post under "funny 'lectrics." May be an answer there from built2redline. Good luck with it!

New Nt Get Together
Hi Desert phantom, sorry I didn't get a chance to say hello before I left NT. You will have a great time with your T in the Territory. This is where the car shines best You will love the drive between Alice and Tennant or the one between Alice and Uluru. What great roads and you can stretch the car's legs safely without speed guns and flashing blue lights. Make sure you catch up with the Darwin guys who are a top bunch even if they do drive a bit crazy

New Nt Get Together
Hey you guys in NT. I just read the NT News on-line and they are talking about a 110KM/H speed limit Better start complaining now or one of the best things about living in NT will disappear. Hard to drive the T in Qld with the 100km speed limit

Funny 'lectrics!
Yeh, I'm so glad too! It's amazing what one little plug can do. When the car was playing up, the air-con wouldn't work, no speedo or tacho, no radio, warning lights on all over the place and even taking off from stationary, the car had a lack of power like you were in second gear instead of first. Not my imagination either cos even the dealer confirmed it when they finally acknowledged there was a problem. Fingers crossed it will stay OK from now!

Funny 'lectrics!
After months of hassles with the dealer in Darwin telling me they could not find anything wrong, and the Cairns dealer even charging me initially for a "warranty" job because they could not find anything wrong either. I took the car back to the dealer in Cairns one morning when things freaked out again. They took it straight in without a booking and the auto-electrician seems to have fixed the problem. It was what "built2redline" said a while ago in this forum. The plug in the ICC unit was not fitted properly. Everything has been OK for a couple of months now so looks like it's fixed. Eehah! Took a while and many visits, denials, funny looks from the dealers ..........gawd I'm so glad it seems to be OK now

Fuel With Ethanol
A quick question. In Qld, fuel is available with 10% ethanol mixed in. Is it OK for us with turbo's? Anyone had any experience with it?
-
Nt Owners: Frying Your Turbo?
Hey Booya, I used to do the Darwin-Katherine drive often enough. I would consistently sit on 160-180km/h (oh, the good ol' days!) with bursts up to whatever, and I had no trouble at all with the turbo. Other things yes, like out of control electricals, clunking rear etc but the turbo was, and still is, fine. I think Capo drove over from Qld to Darwin towing a trailer at a fair rate of knots from memory and he had no trouble (even though the Townsville dealer forgot to put his air filter back in after a service, woh!!) Just so long as your oil is good, cruising at 180km/h in NT for a T is a good speed Gee, did I already say "Oh, the good ol' days????".....................

Hello All, And Introducing My New Xr6t
Hey tab, nuthin' wrong with NT people especially someone with a T there. At least you can really stretch its legs there. Driving between Alice and Uluru or Tennant Creek is great stuff. You should try it. You can just go and go for ages. ← My point exactly FELLOW QUEENSLANDER – how does it feel doing 100km/h? Gawd, this 100 clicks/hr IS a shocker. Im thinking of putting in a 4cyl engine in my T. When is Qld going to wake up and have some open sections of road? I guess I can answer my own question though: When they fix the roads up first especially with that Cyclone Larry damage up north here in certain sections. Pot-holes big enough to sink a new VE Late model camira in places

I have just moved from NT and already miss the open highways there. Have fun!

New Nt Get Together
They're not all bad Pete! Especially the ones that are ex-Territorians! Glad to hear your machine is going well. Bit faster then my T especially over here with these crazy speed limits. 100 km/h is a bit tough but the almighty speed gun keeps me in check in Qld
-
New Nt Get Together
Ha ha tab. No the people with second heads are Tasmanians not Territorians Besides that, I'm actually a Brisbanite from way back, but don't hold that against me. Wasn't my fault. I was deported there from Victoria

New Nt Get Together
Hello T owner Qlders! I am now based in Cairns so I will have to leave the active NT forum. The guys I've met in Darwin are a real decent bunch, even including sixfan! I'll have to check around and see who owns a T here in Cairns. I get my HgAg delivered back to me tomorrow at last after my car enjoying a relaxing "bus trip" on the back of a TNT trailer over to Qld. Wish I could have driven it though. One last chance for good legal blast. Oh well, maybe I'll drive back when I visit Darwin again. This 100km/h limit in Qld is a real bore I know T owners in Qld never break the speed limit, right?
-
New Nt Get Together
Hey tab, thanks for pointing out that post for me. I didn't see that sixfan had gone Mr Bishi! Hey Pete, hope you have better luck than with your old T. I relocated back to Nth Qld to Cairns earlier this week. Mick and Clapper, good to catch up for a last drink at the Wharf and do stay in touch. Philfy, didn't get time to say hello. Any time you guys are in Nth Qld, drop me a line so we can catch up. Geez I'm ging to miss blasting along at 160, flooring the throttle (trying to keep up with the NT Govt Toyota Camry's) and having the car kick down to 3rd, all done legally out on the open highway. Max 100 kms/hr in Qld is a disaster. I'm expecting my first speeding ticket soon unless I remember where I am
-
New Nt Get Together
What do you guys in Qld know that we don't know about Pete?
-
New Nt Get Together
Hey, I'll be there. Yeh, would be great to see some of the other forum guys Philfy, saw the article about you. Good one! Saw you flash by on Trower Rd the other afternoon in your XRT. See if you can make it Saturday for a quick lunch at Stokes Hill Wharf Sixfan, haven't seen you for a while. Clapper? Capo?
-
New Nt Get Together
Anyone interested in drinks/lunch at the Wharf this coming Saturday or Sunday, say round 12pm? Also, what about Hidden Valley in July for the V8 Supercars?
