Normally I just read over the forums and don’t post, but I see many people stating that they can not see the extra value in getting a Typhoon over a XR6T. So I just wanted to make a topic on the matter to show people that it’s not that big of a difference. My point is about people who can afford to buy a Typhoon but can’t justify paying the extra money over a XR6T. If you can’t afford a Typhoon, then a XR6T is great! Ford BF Falcon XR6T has a RRP of $46,405 FPV BF F6 Typhoon has a RRP of $59,810 (Will leave out taxes and extra costs) These are the options you have to pay for when getting a XR6T that the Typhoon comes standard with. - Prestige exterior colours ($355) - 18 inch wheels ($1500) - Matching alloy spare wheel ($380) - Premium audio system ($985) - Scuff plate inserts ($35) - Premium brakes ($2,950) – I know there not Brembos, but I picked this option because the Typhoon comes with much better brakes any how. - Side airbags ($555) - Alarm system ($640) - Alloy wheel lock nut set ($44) This brings the total cost of the XR6T to $53,849. So in fact it’s a $6000 difference. I believe the Typhoon easily makes up an extra $6000 worth. To start off with, the cloth interior of the Typhoon is much nicer to be in and look at compared to the one in the XR6T with its very bright colours and weird patterns. If I was getting a XR6T, I would have to get rid of the standard interior by getting the Ford iDesign XR Sports Leather Seats which costs $2,495 (this brings up the price to $56,344). Also in the Typhoons interior you get the carbon fibre (fake) trim, this does lighten up the interior and give it a sportier feel. Also you get the FPV dials, the extra gauges (not always seen as a plus), and the starter button (also, not always seen as a plus). When comparing the exterior of the two cars, the Typhoon looks meaner and sportier. The Typhoon gets the bigger wing, more mean looking spoilers and side skirts along with those nice looking standard 18 inch rims. The Typhoon has a lower stance and ultimately looks better then a XR6T. The Typhoon also sounds better with that bigger exhaust. Mechanically the Typhoon is better then the XR6T with improved suspension and brakes (Brembo 4 piston callipers at front with 1 piston at rear compared to Ford 2 piston callipers at front with 1 piston at rear, not to mention the rotors on the FPV are larger). Then there is the engines, the FPV F6 has an extra 25kW and 70Nm! With getting a Typhoon you also get the exclusivity and a bigger experience. This is enhanced by the free track day with included insurance, and all the freebies you get (big deal I guess). The Typhoon is also faster off the line and can put more speed into a corner. Where the Typhoon really shines though is in it's in gear acceleration. Well I can’t think of anything else at the moment, so there you go.
