Got confused there when I said 15,000 that was gbp so about 22000 aud. It'd be good to meet some of you fella's when I'm over there what the scene like do they take well to us pomms or is there some hostility haha. I'll take your advice when I'm over there and test drive some motors.

Just had a read there on the licences and I appears have no restrictions on what I can drive with me holding my licence for over 3 years. So you guys hit me with as many possibilities as you can would much appreciate it. Al

Hwy what's meant by that?? Well I have a contract initially for a year over there but hoping to make it permanent, I'll be over in mid November ish.. This country is on it's arse in many ways completely shot. I havn't really a clue what I am after engine wise but preferably like a v8 as with petrol being £1.46 over here which equates to over 2 dollars a litre it's definitely not possible to afford over here. Basically was just after everyone's opinion really would realistically starting have around 15,000 to spend till I get some more money saved when I get over there To move onto bigger things. So what do you boys recommend on the ford side of things. Currently I have a edition 30 vw golf which is the equivenlant to the Pirelli edition which I think was available in aus. But I'm a ford man at heart. As regards to parts from the UK hit me up with a message and I could more than likely source some parts for you boys if your after anything in particular. Could probably send them as gift to skip the importation charges. Anyway cheers for the replays I hope to here back from you some more to get me in the loop before I head over.

Afternoon fella's, How are all you lot doing? Just a quick hello as I'm new to the forum and thought it'd be wise to introduce myself. Just got a few quick questions for you lot. Been looking around on the site for a while but though I would bite the bullet and join up to get involved. Basically I am moving to Melbourne in November so was just after some info on basically what the car scene is like over there and what cars should I be looking at? I've always has had the urge for a UTE but you can't get them for love nor money over here, so any suggestions on what to look for? Also does any have any idea where I will be able to get information on where I stand with driving on my current British Licence?? I have been driving for 5 years over here but I am only 22, so let me know what the score is gents. I expect a torrent of abuse off you boys for being a Brit but you know it's all in good banter. Alex
