finally got around to measuring the crush depth 16mm got the car working turns out it was a faulty clutch mast cylinder thanks every one for the help

how do I measure that?

there was plenty of fluid coming out and absolutly no air coming out. what is back bleeding I have never heard of it?

the clutch plate is in the right way and have bleed it up a couple of different ways that a couple of mechanics from a ford dealer that I deal with through work, told me to do it(gravity bleeding, using a brake sucker,conventional bleeding etc)the old clutch used to slip from abuse from the previous owner(only had the car couple of months) went to see someone else today about it he thinks that you need a special tool to bleed the csc unsure of this but he will find out for me in the next couple of days. he used to be head of service at a dealer and in counted this problem before will let you know

hi guys, this is my first post.I have a 2002 BA xr6t 5speed manual that is totally stock, my brother(mechanic) and I changed the clutch from the original to an excedy heavy duty clutch, when the car is running it will not select gears,it will select them when it is switched off, when put in to gear then started it wants to take off suggesting to me that it's not disengaging, I thought that the slave cylinder might of been no good so I bought another genuine(total rip off)slave cylinder but still done the same. then tried the old clutch plate with the new pressure plate still didn't work then tried the new clutch plate with the old pressure plate the same again. so then I tried to put the old clutch in with the genuine new slave cylinder but it still will not select any gears.I also put in a new clutch master cylinder and made sure it was bleed properly. I am really pissed off now cause this has been happening over the last month and its not fun pulling out then in the box over and over on the floor. Any help will be muchly appreciated.
