Hey everyone, I've been trawling around in here trying to work out the best offset wheel/tyre package setup for my BA MK11. Obviously, we are not all after the same thing....some people are going for looks only and others for handling etc. Regardless of what we want, the only way we can help each other is if ALL of the following info is included in your post. Below I will list what we need to know and why we need it and how to work out what you've got if you don't know What model car you've got Pretty obvious I guess but it's amazing how many posts are around with wheels and tyres but not what model they're on.... Wheel size 17 x 8 or 18 x 9.5 or whatever they are etc Suspension Height We need to know this because if someone has for example, 20 x 10's +38 on the rear of a BA with standard height suspension, that doesn't mean they'll necessarily work with a car with Kings SSL's. If you don't know what suspension is in your car....read on. Measure from the centre of your wheel to the wheel arch lip. If it's roughly 350mm both ends it's got eg: Kings/Lovells lowered in the front and SSL's in the back. 380mm roughly, means you got factory XR6 height 400mm roughly, means you XT/SR taxi height. Offset/backspace This is really important. Regardless of the wheel diameter 17,18,19,20....the offset result is the same. Some wheels have the offset stamped on them somewhere...it'll usually start with ET and then the number eg: 35. If you can't find it and you don't know what your offset is...here's how to work it out. Take a wheel off and lie it face down. Place a straight edge across the wheel lips (one side of the wheel to the other)Then measure the distance from the hub face of the wheel to the straight edge. The measurement you've just taken is bound to match one of the +offsets tabled below. B/space Offset 139mm +25 142mm +28 144mm +30 149mm +35 151mm +36.5 This is factory BA/F offset (I think it's also FG) 156mm +42 159mm +45 161mm +47 You also need to tell us whether you rolled your guards or not and whether you get any rubbing etc..... So....in summary Model of car Wheel diameter and width Suspension height Offset Rolled guards or not Hope this will help us all find out exactly what we wanna know
