  1. It's amazing the amount of great comments I've had about the colour of my car since I got it. People keep telling me that they don't know whether it's purple, blue, charcoal or grey...all depending on the light. I'm very happy with my decision.
  2. No, it only does it when I turn the car on and go to reverse or move forward (depending on where I'm parked). It doesn't shudder on normal idle, though. Either way, I'd be surprised that for a brand new performance car, I'd have to wait 30-seconds for the car to get a grip when I first turn it on. I decided to be safe rather than sorry, so I've put the car in for a service early tomorrow morning. It'll be interesting what they say, and I'll be sure to let you folks know.
  3. It happened when I first started the car. There is no chance to let it run. It just happens when it's started.
  4. Well, now I'm a little more concerned. I took the car out again this morning and it shuddered, which now means it's done it each time I've first started the car over the last few days (three times). Strangely, though, it only does it when I first start it in the morning. Hours later when I head home from work it doesn't do it. Just first thing in the morning.
  5. Nice work, mate! Thanks for asking that. It could be right, I suppose. The car is fine otherwise and what he said could very well make sense.
  6. My car is two weeks old, mate, so it's all news to me.
  7. Thanks for the feedback, guys - it's put my mind to rest. I'll bring it up when I take the car in for its first service, just to make sure, but I appreciate the responses.
  8. Mine did it again this morning. Twice in two days...not sure whether I should book an early service or wait for its first at 3000km.
  9. Okay, so now I think I'm being paranoid, but I've now got another concern regarding a noise the car is making (tragic, aren't I?)... Along with the whistle, it's also making a 'wheezing' sound on acceleration. I'm assuming it's the turbo, but as I'm completely new to driving one, I've really got no idea. Is the turbo that "unusual" sounding in comparison to normal engines?
  10. I'm glad, at least, that I'm not alone on this one and that it's not something that's unique to my car.
  11. I went the easy way out and had the good folk at Waves Carwash do it yesterday. They did an amazing job, too, actually - looks better than the day I bought it!
  12. Mine is stock standard, mate. Absolutely nothing after-market on it. Much like yourself, berzerker, this is the only issue with my car so I can't link it to anything else.
  13. We may have the same issue, mate. Mine has only done it when it's been put straight in to reverse after I turn it on, as well. I haven't switched it off to get rid of the shudder when it's done it, though, as it seems to correct itself after ten seconds or so. I hope it's not something I should be worried about.
  14. I've had my new FG Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo for a fortnight now, and twice when I've started it in the morning it's given a 'shudder' for a few seconds. It's only light, but it is a noticeable jerk back and forth. Is this something to be concerned about, or is it a characteristic of the car, such as a build-up of the turbo?
  15. I've noticed that there have been a lot of problems with the Apple iPhone and connecting to in-car Bluetooth reported. Mine seems to be working fine now, which is fortunate, but it's strange that there is such random consistency with the issue.
  16. Thanks for the advice, guys - I'll give it all a go and see what works best.
  17. Thanks, mate! Keeping it clean is a bit of a task so far, but definitely worth it.
  18. This is probably a strange topic, but I washed my car today for the first time (it's only a few days old), and although it was given a fairly comprehensive go at the Wave's Car Wash (touch-free, of course), once it was chamoised it still had quite a few streaks on the windows and paint. Does anyone have any sure-fire products, cloth materials and methods to recommend to get the perfect shine after each wash?
  19. Thanks mate, yeah...really excited and happy with it. It's an awesome machine...something that I'm quite proud to have. No doubt everyone else here who has one can relate to that.
  20. I've actually been going without for the last couple of years, but my first car was an EF Ford Falcon. It was a nice ride, actually, had some good work done to it. I always regretted selling it, too. Well...until now, that is.
  21. So, after giving it another go today, it worked beautifully! So, I don't know whether it's an on and off thing or whether I was doing something wrong previously. Either way, it seems to be working well now, so that's enough for me. Thanks again for all of your help, guys!
  22. Finally...some photos! You can see by the photos how this colour seems to change depending on the light. It's awesome. Some people say it's purple, some blue and some say grey. Either way, I'm completely stoked!
  23. I'll try it more this evening and let you know what happens. Thanks again for the responses, guys.
  24. Maybe I haven't played with it enough yet, but it is showing the number on the screen and using the button on the wheel, so it must be utilising the Bluetooth. I haven't had the windows down much (new car: don't want dust inside [the paranoia begins - ha-ha!]), but it appears that the only microphone picking-up sound is the microphone in the phone itself - but nothing in the car.
  25. Thanks for the replies, guys. I took home my brand new FG Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo in 'Steel' two days ago and am absolutely stoked with the choice of colour.
