yeah im thinking about commiting aye the decision is that damn tough 1st got to sell my T first 18500 ono if anyones keen =) anyone...

I know the FG is probably the better option but IMO I do prefer the look of a BF typhoon more than the FG F6, they just look a whole lot meaner, but engine wise the fg f6 is probably miles ahead.... oh decisions decisions

they arrived yesterday and im not sure if I wanna sell them, not sure if I trust these borgg brand enough to get rid of the genuine ones. You can buy them off ebay for 185 + 15p/h pretty good compared to anywhere else, I got quoted like $45 each at an auto store in perth.

So I got the "Borgg Performance Ignition Coils" in the mail today, put them in the the T and I have to say shes running sweet. I was quite surprised but they actually feel alot smoother than the genuine ones but that's just my opinion. Just gotta see how long these bad boys last.

might be your coil packs, does it feel like its struggles to move eg. shudders heaps. I had the same problem on mine, changed the coilpacks and did the plugs and shes runs purrrfect.

they'd better be good for $660, got me thinking maybe I just should have bought them instead of 4 different sets of coils

So this is actually starting to do my head in, so ive bought brand new genuine coil packs off ebay for $185 and I bought after market ones for $165. I would like to see which one will last longer. Should be interesting. I know Im stupid, sooo what ahaha

Actually $660 does seem decent if its gonna pull the power you want and not die like all these other ones & if u add up all the times you buy ones off ebay add it up you would come pretty close to $660, Plus they seem pretty genuine, I read the advert again and they are sponsored by CV performance, so its gotta say something. Im sure there warranty would be genuine aswell. Not quite as sure as these ones im buying, I hope they dont die and if they do I hope the warranty isnt bodgey

I actually seen those ones on ebay and I thought about getting them but a bit out of my price range See how the Borgg goes, So whats the deal with the 1 year warranty, you put them on they fail in 3 months so you get some more??

Hey I recently bought some aftermarket coilpacks off ebay for real real cheap, thought it might be a good idea because a few people got them off ebay and said they were better than the genuine one....well not in my case. Received them on monday arvo, installed them with no dramas, drove like a dream and went harder then ever, and then tonight went for a drive and it seems the the surging problem is worse than ever, more surging in less intervals. Anyway is there anyway I can have like a temp cure untill I get some genuine ones?... or does anyone know of better brand of aftermarket coil packs? I was thinking of pulling them out and spraying some wd40 in the leads to see if it helps but not sure if it might fark it. Help Please!!!! cheers Lukey.

Ive had a squeeze through the forum and read up about the aftermarket coil packs compared to the genuine ones http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57105 and it looks like the aftermarket ones do a better job than the genuine ones, I wouldnt mind trying out these after market coils packs but, Im having some trouble finding them on ebay, so if anyone does happen to come across it on ebay ----> link me

Probably a stupid question because everyone is in different states here, but I was just wondering if anyone had any rough idea on how much coils packs were for a BA T. Changed my plugs/fuel filter but didnt solve my problem of surging at high rpm, so im gonna try the coils now. cheers

even though they got the warranty, im still very very iffy with buying car bits and pieces off ebay, ive been stung in the past and its not very good when u lose over $400. So ill have a look but im keen to pay the extra and get it from here

ahhh I see, well that means that the only other option is to change my coil packs then :( anyone have a rough estimate on a price for coils???

I got the genuine ford plugs... they were/looked like the ones that came out from there to start with. by the way im not very mechanically minded so what does gapped to 0.08 and 0.1 mean should I have got different ones?

I pretty much feel like im nearly out of options here, im guessing that I probably have to change the coils and the leads now, but I highly doubt that's the problem Funny you say about the hose clamps cuz when I did take off the top turbo air intake manifold to get to the plugs I loosened all the screws I needed to but the one that goes directly to the turbo came off without even loosening ford do some dodgey pipe joiners, ill tell u that much, majority are all turning odd shaped. sorry but what is a PCM udpate..

well ive changed the plugs, and changed the fuel filter and can definately feel the change, but now at around 5-5500rpm it still does it, im thinking the coils now...
