Thanks ratter for all your help mate, it looks like im gonna start with the gearbox an pull out the valve body an put a new one in, an see if it makes a change, the weird thing with the box is no matter how low we try an adjust the line presure it is still shifting hard, an that's with changing all the solinoids.

Hi ratter, yesterday we put the standard tune back in the car, an it didnt change a thing, would you know if the cruise control an my back brake lights would have anything to do with how my gearbox is behaving, they seem to have a mind of its own, because they work sometimes, an then they stop working. Another thing ratter with the cars that you have seen with the similar dramas that my gearbox is doing, did they have all gears from 1 to 4 in tiptronic mode, or did they miss first gear? If I cant sort this problem,do you thing the next best thing to do would be changing the valve body to standard to see what happens? thanks for your help ratter

Hi mate, yea iv all ready tryed with the xcal, an it didnt record any faults, then an other bloke used his scanner an the only thing it recorded was seatbelts, it looks like its going to be a pain in the ass now for me trying to solve this drama,I might get a tuner to adjust the line pressures on the computer lower to see if that can make a change. I dont understand why but it gets all gears while I use the tip control, but soon as I push it in drive,it takes off in second.

Hi straughsberry, my transmission builder turned down the line presures back to standard an we still had the same out come,right now im thinking to replace my tps sensor, voltage sensor, to see if it may make a difference, as this is known to happen when a voltage sensor is faulty, acording to my workshop manual.

the valve body has been modified, this problem that I have now just started about two weeks ago, but before that it was shifting hard in all the gears for about 5000ks without any problems, until out of no were it just started to take off in 2nd gear, but in manual mode it is fine, it shifts all gears.

hi ratter thanks for the reply, but with the solinoids we tryed adjusting them an that failed, so them we put brand new ones in an still had the same problem, so then after that, we ripped the gearbox apart an it was all perfect.

Hi everyone, I thought I post this up, just in case the problems that I have, as happened to someone else or someone would know where best sould I start, before I start tearing the electrical parts off my car, but anyways this is my problem, when car is in drive (btr 4 speed) the car takes of in 2nd gear, but when in sports mode (manual shifting) I get all my gears, the gearbox is modyfied an it as a 3000 rpm converter, car is tuned an it as 300kw at the wheels, now my transmission builder has pulled the box apart just to rule out it is not the gearbox causing my problems, me an him have came to a conclusion an we think that it may be a tps sensor that has failed, or my computer as tripped it self out, so guys all I wanna know is has anyone had a similar problem an fixed it? how did you fix it? all your help would be greatly apreciated. thanks mic

Hey mate, I think I found the answer to your problem, check your tailshaft, see if the red marking on your box is in alignment to the red marking on the(front) tailshaft, then check if the yellow mark on the rear of the tailshaft is in alignment to the yellow marking on the diff, then tourqe the 6 bolts tailshaft to diff at 77nm, hope that sorts it out.

That would be your slipping problem, find out were it is coming from.

That is the first sign you will hear when your auto is about to sh*t its self, soon you will be without 3rd an 4 gear, sounds like its time for a rebuild, sorry to hear mate.

Hey mate, try this, jack your car up on all fours, tourqe down every bolt to spec that's got to do with your drive line, an example would be your tailshaft bolts that are connected to the diff, there are 6 of them, the tourqe spec on them are 77nm, this shall give you an improvement.

First step, flash tuner, injecters, k@n airfilter an a tune, youl have about 270kw at wheels an you will be very happy with the improvements, check out the deals from the sponsers on the forum.

To narrow the search down abit, did you have this problem before u put your new rebuild box in,have you modded anything else like say your springs on your suspension etc ?

Hi mate, first of all is your car modified ? is your gearbox modified? reason I ask is when I got my gearbox build with a big stall converter, they increased the line pressures in the box so that the box shifts more aggressive, which causes the car to thumb in gears real hard when cruising, or coming to a stop, I noticed that you got your gearbox rebuild so mabey they have increased the line pressures, get your auto builer to have a look at the box.

I just checked the flexplate an seems to be tight.

I have spoke to tony dominello an he advised me on exactly what you said mate (check inspection cover) I will be getting on to it later on this afternoon.
