Mine last for 6 years before gone just yesterday.

Hi guys, After driving my car for about 1hr with a/c today, I stalled my car by accident get off the clutch while parallel parking. After that, I couldn't restart my engine (just hear the click and nothing happened). I thought it was the ECU problem, so I disconnected the battery hopefully to restart the computer but it didn't help. I tried it for a few times and it's still the same, sometimes I still heard the clicking noise after stop trying to start the engine (the key was on ignition). I tried to jump start it from another car, still didn't help. Does anyone know what problems with my car? Is that the ECU problem or battery? My car is 03 BA and I haven't changed my battery since I got it 3 years ago. Is there any way that we can test if the battery is OK or how to reset the car computer and will I lost my custom tune when reset the car computer? Any helps will be greatly appreciated coz I left my car on the street now and don't even know who can fix the problems beside Ford Dealers.

Thank you for the explanation Senna. Coz in my mind, I thought like the boost and the oil temp, the higher the oil pressure reading the worse the car engine is. Now since you explain, I know that low oil pressure reading (I.e 1 bar) indicates problems. With the shift point, I know that I should shift gear at ~ 5000RPM for max performance. But as I am not a good manual driver, I can't feel the car (knowing when the RPM is 5000) and when racing I cannot keep my eye on the tacho reading. Is there any relationship between engine RPM and boost? So I can set my boost gauge so that it will sound at 5000RPM so I can hear it and shift gear (just like the shift light which I don't want to put one in my car). Thanks

How can you set your oil pressure to 1 Bar? I just fit my gauge yesterday, and the oil pressure reading was between 2-5 Bar. Is that mean my reading was high or your setting is low? I got another question regarding the boost gauge reading. For optimum performance, we suppose to shift gear (manual) when the boost is max, is this correct?

I just got my 3 gauges (oil press, oil temp and boost) installed on my T. Since I don't know much about these things, just need someone to explain what are these gauges used for. From the name, I know the oil pressure gauge measure the oil pressure, the boost gauge measure the boost... but can someone tell me more about those numbers on each gauge and which level indicates a good condition on my car and which level tell me that my car need intention. My gauges are ozegauges. Just say if my car is running at 8 psi (0.55 bar), the needle should point at 0.55 on the gauge is that correct? How about those numbers below the zero on the boost gauge, what are they used for? Any helps are greatly appreciated.

Hi, Just wondering anyone of you purchased ozegauges directly from their website (www.ozegauge.com.au)? What is your waiting period? From what I read from the ebay feedback, It should take 2-3 days to be delivered. I've paid (bank transfer) for my 3 gauges yesterday early in the morning and the money should be in his bank straight away (transfer from same bank). I also sent the copy of my order form to scott@ozegauge.com.au and tell him to let me know when he received it. Until now (more than 1 day), I haven't received any mail from Scott at Ozegauge. Since this is my first time buying stuff online, I am kind of worry. Would anyone know if this is a trusted website? And how long does it take for the gauges to be delivered if you bought one before. I already booked for the gauges to be fitted next Mon. Should this be OK?

I've just found out from this forum that changing the fuel filter on the T is recommended. Just have a few questions regarding to this. My car is a BA XR6T sedan. Where is the fuel filter in the sedan? Is it easy and how to change it or we need to bring to a mechanic? Would any new fuel filter for this car will increase the performance or we need any particular performance brands (e.g K&N air filter)? Thanks

Thanks guys! I followed Tree Monkey, which is checked the plugs under the passenger seat and pushed it in a bit. My warning light has gone off and I suppose my airbag work normally again (is it correct that if no airbag warning light is on while driving means it's working fine?). Thanks again for saving me lot of hassles and money to bring my car to the garage to fix it. Really good advices I found in this forum.

Thanks for your advices. Since it's not good to play around with the airbag system. I'm better to bring my car to the garage to fix it. Do you think the guys at Ultra Tune would be able to fix it or I have to bring it to a electrical specialist garage (which one is cheaper?). I don't want to bring my car to a Ford Dealer as they're so expensive (last time they charged my $2,600 for a service with a few minor problems). Can anyone tell me roughly how much does it cost to fix the faulty airbag code 23 so I can prepare money before my next service is due. Thanks

Hi guys, Just wondering how you guys launch your manual T for best performance. Mine is stock, just got CAPA flash tuner (tunes to 8psi with stock valve springs and 220 RWKW, pretty low). I did try to rev it up to 2500RPM with traction control off. However, it was so hard to get off the line since no traction and too much wheel spin at the back, hence I got embarrassing beaten by my mate's stock WRX. Has anyone here tried with a WRX yet? I know the WRX is slow in 1/4 mile (not that slow, should match a stock BA XR6T at 14.3s), but the REX seems to get off the line so quick and stay ahead of my car as it's a AWD. I beat other Jap car like Skyline and S15 a few times but no chance for a REX. Should we put traction control ON or OFF when take off? How much should we rev it up to? Another question is how come an automatic XR6T is quicker than a manual one? I tried to tell this to all my mates but nobody believes it. They keep saying because I'm a sh*t driver. For all cars except Falcon and prob Holden, manual should be faster than automatic. The fact for XR6T is that no matter how much you good at shifting gear on a manual XR6T, you should lose to an automatic one with the same mods. Is it correct? And how to explain this?

I've just checked for the faulty code. My warning light blinks twice then stop for 1s, then 3 times and stop, then repeat twice,3 times for 5 times (I.e: 5 x 2+3 total of 25 times) before it stays on. So what is the code for it and how to fix it? Thanks.

Thanks for your help. I will try to look at the plugs tomorrow. But how can I find out the faulty code? Does it mean count how many times it blink before it stay on or how long does it take before stay on?

Hi guys, When I start my BA XR6T, my airbag warning light is on for a few seconds then off (together with all other lights which is normal). However, when I start driving, it's blinking for a while then stay on. Has anyone here has the same problem and what causes it and how to fix it? Does it mean my airbags not working anymore or just the faulty on the warning light? The strange thing is that usually after put my car for the hand car wash and cleaning, I am not sure how they clean my interior but the light works normally after that for about a week then start on again. Any helps will be good.

Hi guys, Has anyone here put gauges on your Xr6T? If yes, which brands would you recommend to use? I am thinking of getting a Pole Position tri-pod with 3 Oze-gauges. Does anyone use these? How much does it cost for installation and where? I am living in North side of Melbourne.
