Cyric, I warned you, there are too many foreigners in Shanghai. My challenge for the day is to put down your laptop, go outside and slap one of them silly. ( preferably take a photo ). Got the call, the car is arriving in Brisbane tonight and I am picking up next Tuesday.

hate to dissapoint, no christmas trip this year, we are staying in Brisbane you are always welcome at our house though, so pack the outlaws in to the T and drive them up. Have a good trip

Twinxrs, I agree, I got the "t" as a reward for keeping my licence. I took a new job 12 months ago that involves driving for a lot of kilometres. Courtesy of a high powered roadbike ( and no, I am not hard done by ) I lost my points down to 2. I managed to last 12 months without a single fine and am now looking forward to the "T" as a reward. I agree that having a job where you need your licence makes you use your cruise control more and be aware of your speed. You can only legally go 100 , but there's no law about how fast you can get to 100.

Black turbo, I also have a silhouette due to be handed over at the end of this week , early next week. Can't wait. Good choice in colour ( or lack of colour .. whatever way you want to look at it ).

I have in FPV at the moment. It finished at the factory last thursday and expected to be delivered in Brisbane next Friday. So close... so very close.....

I agree, if I wanted to go 240+ , then I would tape my skinny ass to a rocket. I love the XR6T for the low end accelaration and mid range turbo power. The top end speed is a bonus. Good point about the speed. Despite the chest beating I am reading, it has plenty of get up and go when you need it. I would hate to see pictures on the news of an XR6 wrapped around a tree due to driver error. Enjoy. ( P.S , I am stepping down off my soapbox now ... blessed are the cheesemakers )

Krash, I know what you mean. Found out my car went from the ford factory to FPV yesterday. A few days there and up to Brisbane late next week. Sure I miss fathers day by a couple of days, but the light at the end of the tunnel appears to be my fog lamps .........woo hoo

OK , back to the original intent for this thread.... I have located the following: 1. If you have premium sound ( or lucky) then you will have footwell light sockets to fit lightbulbs to and light up your feet. 2. Adding 3M clear plastic headlight film to the fog lamps will prevent stone chips and cracking and prevent $120 replacements lamps. 3. If you tell me more, then I will be very grateful. :D

I agree, I was lucky to have a pre-ordered car from the dealer which cut down the wait time by 8 weeks. This is for a retail private sale ( which is more profitable for the delaer ). If you are a fleet customer, you get given last allocation for the builds and a national fleet customer, you get shat on from a great height and are last in the pecking order. This is consistent with most of this site as most delays happen for fleet orders. The exception to this is if a part is understocked ( like premium audio at the moment ) which means you wait until the part is available. The good news in this is that my car goes into paint today and will be delivered to the dealer on the 29th August... can't wait, went for another test drive today. Woo hoo .....

Fello turbo fans, Let me clarify that the $1500 does apply and there are currently about 1000 packages available nationwide. If you haven't taken delivery, it still applies. Zeke, you were right, the premium sound (being a factory option) is not included. It does allow you to have an extra $1,000 worth of dealer accessories. When you consider I was already going to pay for a bonnet protector, headlight protectors and dashmat. It cost me an extra $200 for another $1000 in gear. Also good news on the delivery front. Shipping date 29th August. This is 10 days from initial order ( because the car was pre-ordered by the dealer ). I can also let you know that they have an XR6 Turbo in phantom which is in their yard brand new due to a fallen over contract. ( opportunity for someone ????? ).

The premium sound is an option at the moment. The current offer of $500 for $1500 worth of accessories might be used to install the premium sound system. Am waiting to hear back.

I have converted back. My VXS Late model camira has been officially undervalued and traded in on a new XR6T. I have searched the site and seen some changes, tips and tricks that you all have done to your cars upon receiving them. ( such as putting film on the fog lights to prevent cracks ). Are there any more. I would love to be pro-active upon receipt of the car, rather than learn things the hard way. The first day of building was last Friday, am waiting patiently for 2 weeks ( hopefully by fathers day - woo hoo!!!!! , beats socks & undies ) Also, has anyone changed over from the normal sound system to premium sound after they have received their car ? Is it easy ?
