  1. I was in the same boat as most of you guys. When I started getting quotes for my BF MKII NOV build a few of my cousins and mates were telling me to wait for the new orion to come out. I also came to the same conclusion as most of you that now gives me the piece of mind that I made the right decision. I know for a fact that most dealers will not budge on price as I have a family friend that works at Ethridge Ford in Ringwood. He was telling me that I'd be paying closer to $50,000 with all the extras I currently have in my XR6T which I ended up getting on the road for just a little less then $39,000. Espcially if you pick up the upgraded NOV Build model you know you are getting a vehicle that has had most of its issues ironed out and also a vehicle that was only built for a limited time compared to all the other models which makes them that little more unique with the different skirting and wheels.
  2. \ same.... good luck with it!!!
  3. haha yeah I know what you mean see I do the same tax thing because of work but errr I couldnt streeeech the budget anymore this time around!!!! what do you do for a living?
  4. haha hang on a minute.... hold up.... didnt you have a xr6T on order... they wouldnt make one for you because of the new model coming out so you basically said and went and got the spec R.... that's aswsome!!! congrats!
  5. So do tell me then because I hear a little mixed feedbacks on this topic. If you were to get your car upto that power range..... 250 rwkw - what components would you need to upgrade - Any drivetrain mods? Engine internals? Clutch?
  6. gee that's unfortunate. I was lucky to get mine.... when they did the ring around the obviously dont stock the manuals at the new car yards because apparently there isnt a huge demand for them. When they called into the ford factory they happened to have one in products in the colour I wanted and had not put the drive train in as of yet. So after what you just told me I'm feeling lucky! I heard they new ones are coming out in June or July!

I stumbled across this site looking for some FPV gauges for my XR6T through google! Didnt end up finding the gagues but this was still a good find! Michael.
  8. Paul that sounds like a good idea it doesnt hurt I suppose to pay the extra few dollars and bed it in right with the extra oil change at 1500km. I have been doing all the things you mentioned I just cant help but giving it too much squirt... sometimes its not moderate like you suggested its a little more then that. This is my first turbo car I was actually a Expensive Daewoo man before this car so I have stepped on over to the dark side and I must say im enjoying it. Thanks all for your welcomes! Look foward to some interesting conversation through this site it looks like there is a lot that I can lear off you guys. Sorry again if I have asked any silly questions hehe!!! Oh and maximus if the mrs annoys me and decideds to take a nap in the front seat ill remember to keep a hose in the boot next time... good tip haha! Cheers, Michael
  9. Thanks cobrav8 for the help I will literally sleep better tonight!!!! gilto - what is redline exactly???.... you just raised another question that I forgot about... there is no red on the tacho!!!!
  10. Got it so no high reving up hills ill take that into note. The longest I kept it on idle was when the mrs feel asleep in the car just before I took it for a wash saturday night when it was 30degress. I left the car on for about 20 min with the air con running. (you can probably gather I am a little compulsive with the questions) anyway... would that have long terms affects to the performance of the car???
  11. I am the new owner of a BF MK II XR6 Turbo - and after driving my car for the first week have discovered that between 2000 and 2100 rpm that when off the accelerator then back onto it there is a slight slip or weird feeling? Has anyone else exprienced this? The car I own is a Manual. Also I have been geeting mixed feelings in regards to the best way to run in your car. At the moment I am just driving it nomrally at variable speeds. Im not pushing it in first but do give it squirts in 2nd and 3rd at most from time to time to 5000rpm. Does anyone believe this is not good for the vehicle? Cheers!
  12. that's a pretty good deal you got there... so good that im slightly jealous. I just picked up a brand new XR6T BF MKII - EGO - 6 speed Manual with all the normal extras just not the sunroof, revearse sensors and the leather seats. I paid $39,000 flat. I had a national fleet discount through my work... what type of discount did you get???
