Can anybody tell me exactly what I need for a 2nd CAI on my TTG and where do I get it from? Is there anything to avoid? Cheers.
  2. Thanks for the info guys, and the PDF, it expained a lot. What I didn't understand, and now do, is that the top row of heat shield bolts are in fact also the manifold bolts, so I will have to crack out the torque wrench, thanks.
  3. Hi ASNU, interesting about these missing bolts. I would like to check mine, don't drive the car enough to feel if the power is down but have noticed fuel ecomony is a bit OTT! Are they on the turbo housing or is it where the manifold bolts to the head.....or both? And do you need to take all that head shield stuff off or can you get to them from underneath??
  4. Yes I know what you mean. I was thinking of firming up the spring rates anyway. Talked to KIngs Springs a while back, they had springs in stock for TTG's which from memory lowered it about 30 or 40mm but were the same tension as standard. You can also have them made up to what ever you want by asking for the % firmness and length over stock that you want. Talked to a guy once in a shopping car park who had done this, to be honest I couldn't tell immediately that it was lowered only when he told me, I guess I was busy admiring his 20" rims! He said the ride was only slightly firmer than stock but stopped a huge amount of body roll when cornering, that's what I'm looking at really, just little improvements over standard, its never going to be a Ferrari so no point trying!
  5. Yes I think that will happen with the springs. Didn't want to go to 22's, starts to look a bit like a pram with bicycle wheels on if you don't pick the right wheels if you know what I mean.
  6. Bought some new 20 x 8.5 wheels for the ttg with 275's. hardly notice the sightly firmer ride but it seems to steer a bit sharper and sit a bit flatter on tight corners, might try firmer springs as well. Added 2 pics.....don't know if I got it to work.
  7. Hey everybody, thanks for the input on the debung issues, just bought a new house with a larger garage so will be onto that soon. One other question, whats DSC and is it affected if I put different wheels and tyres on my TTG? Have seen a couple around Brisbane that have 20" rims with 275 x 45 tyres ( I think) looks real impressive.....especially when you park beside one and you're still wearing the razor blades!.....cheers for the info.
  8. Hi peoples, I'm a new TTG owner, traded in my '05 4 speed Ghia. Must say I'm very happy with the experience. The wife only wanted a new Ghia 6 speed but I conned her into 'just trying the turbo'........got back to the show room and it was no contest! Even got the colour I wanted, charcoal or Ego I think it is. So now its got 3500 on the clock and I would like to do something with it, like more Kw! My question is, does just removing the exhaust bung alter anything else about the motor, like back pressure on the turbo and allowing it to maybe over boost, is this a possibility? Also what size cat would be better, 3" or 3 1/2"? I will eventually go to a tune shop somewhere and get a custom tune and whatever comes with that but just wanted to know a couple of things first. Looking forward to some replies......and by the way the sound system is utter crap, told the Ford dealer on my 3K service, met with glum silence and vague stares at the ceiling.
