  3. It seems things are so bad at Expensive Daewoo that some dealers have resorted to some pretty drastic action to stay afloat...... I have heard the saying "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" but this is ridiculous....... Michael.....
  4. Anyone who is registered on LS1 forum - feel free to post any of my pics at the Expensive Daewoo dealership if they are good enough......but please send us a link to the thread!!!! Michael....
  5. Hey all, Well thanks for a top day, my first cruise. Was good to put some faces to names and see some other great cars. Such a buzz to have so many great cars cruising together - we certainly got some looks and attention when driving through some of the towns - great stuff. And as for taking over the Expensive Daewoo dealership, now that was priceless. My brother Johnno was snapping away with the digi camera while I was using my SLR - I have uploaded them to some web space while we wait for an album to be created. The quality isnt great as its a crappy little digi camera, but at least its a quick taste of better photos to come. Cheers, Michael....
  6. Hey Miss Aly, Good news about the paper - I dont know how big or small Wonthaggi is but I'm guessing close to 20 XR's will be easy to spot....... Look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. Damn - it just started raining, and I just washed the car this arvo........ Cheers, Michael...
  7. FYI: *snip* NOTE: Channel 05 and 35 are Emergency Channels and channel 11 is a Calling Channel. Channels 22 and 23 are used for telemetry and telecommand applications, voice communications are not permitted on these channels. *unsnip* You can end up with all sorts of noise on 22 due to the above... Cheers, Michael...
  8. No worries, take a couple sets of spare batteries (each unit takes 3 x AAA Alkaline) as they can chew through them. Cheers, Michael...
  9. Or try the UH-036 Twin Pack, $20off, for $58. I have 3 of these.....bloody tiny little things. Cheers, Michael...
  10. Hey everyone, Well, I have just been on the phone for over 2 hours cancelling a weekend activity for 25 people which was the reason I couldnt attend my first cruise. (not just so I could attend the cruise.... but for unforseen circumstances!) So, with that done, I should be able to make the cruise!! yay. So if it's OK for me to tag along, I'll meet at Cranny Bunnings at 9.30 - 9.45 too. Wife has to work, but I'll find someone else to ride shotgun. Cheers, Michael..

Thanks Mondie, So, do you have to hold the key at start and hit the go button - or does the go button work with the key just at ignition? And for those with the mod button - does it work the same as the FPV, ie does it deactivate the key from starting the engine so you have to use the button, or do you have the choice? (Just curious - going to get Blau DVD & Satnav first anyway.....) Cheers, Michael...

OK this might be a dumb question but I'm still going to ask it. On the FPV's with the starter button, does the key stop at ignition or can you start it with the key as well as the button??? Cheers, Michael..
  13. Hmm so I spent the early hours of the morning looking for info on RDA on the web (bugger all) and decided to look over the DBA website. The DBA Longlife Gold Slotted & Drilled discs look like damn fine stuff. Anyone actually running them on here?? They do say that some slight cracking around the holes can be normal??? They certainly look the goods, although that black disc behind the mag will cover most of the gold hub when they are on. So I'm thinking, DBA Longlife Slotted (as per NSW Police choice) or DBA Longlife Gold teamed up with EBC Greenstuff Kevlar (when they are out) would be a pretty awesome combo. I'll keep you posted on what I do when they brakes are up for changing. Cheers, Michael...
  14. Hi again, OK so I called EBC today to talk about brakes for XR's. They currently do not have their you beaut slotted and dimpled rotors available for the XR. They did however say they can get RDA slotted discs. (Never heard of RDA before - stands for Rotors & Discs Australia). They are also about a month or so away from their Greenstuff Kevlar pad being available. They will be more expensive than the likes of Bendix, QFM etc. but you pay for what you get. Check out their website for the advantages of Kevlar - I'll be putting a set on when the current pads are worn. Some of the points I like are the lack of brake dust, no squeal, higher operating temperature without brake fade and that for a HD pad they do not need any warm up to bite, ie they bite from cold and have a high temp rating. Anyway so there's the story on EBC. Oh and I have no affiliation with them whatsover other than I have used their stuff before and was impressed. Cheers, Michael..
  15. I dont have prices for the XR as I have only had it a few weeks. Prices for the Discovery wont really be comparitive. I will ring them tomorrow to see if they do anything for the XR's. I just had a look at the disk catalogue on their website http://www.ebcbrakes.com.au/ and they dont seem to have them - just UK and american models I think? There is another catalogue that cross references Bendix part numbers with theirs, so if anyone knows the Bendix part numbers for the XR they might be able to see if they have suitable pads. But if you have a look at the pic of the disks on the Product Range page you will see what I mean about the slotted and dimpled disks. Shame if they dont do them for the XR's though. Cheers, Michael..
  16. Anyone looked into or considered EBC slotted and dimpled disks and kevlar pads for their XR? I ran them on my Land Rover Discovery and they were great. I have heard that the cross drilled rotors are prone to cracking. The EBC ones are just dimpled, ie not drilled straight through. Could be another option. They do alot of race applications. Cheers, Michael...
  17. Sorry guys, Looking forward to my first cruise, but 18th no good for me. Sunday before or after would be fine. Otherwise, will have to wait for the next one. Cheers, Michael...

What he said...... I'm out for another drive........ Mook.
  19. Thanks Rednut, you're not wrong about the blueprint. I went through a phase of really really wanting Blood Orange, it looks awesome in the sunlight. But then I aw a few on the road in overcast weather, and the colour looked really flat and weird compared to in the sun. (Just my opinion, no offence to the Blood Orange owners out there!) LMAO @ VIK - yeah I know re the dirt, LOL - this dirt driveway is going to be a pain in the as*.......gotta save up for some concrete now...... Already done my first mod - Rice Boys LED footwell lights! hehe. I put one blue in and one red, to see which looks better at night - the blue seems to light up more. Damn great that you an buy them made up now - top idea for those that are into it. Looks like they have a full range of LED globes now, going to check some more out - might do the little rear interior lights too...... Anyway better go, got more driving to do. Cheers, Michael...
  20. And the last one, thanks for looking!
  21. Second last one....
  22. Only a couple more......
