So im off to the Gold Coast this Thurs to look at this 03 XR6T Ute. Its got a Carry Boy canopy on it which I dare say ill pull off. Ive got a dog which ill be carting around in it, but I wanted to get a hard lid for the tray. I was thinking, it would be good if they came with some sort of hatch setup so that my dog could get in the back and stick his head out the hatch. Otherwise I was thinkin of doin a chop job myself.... I think also when the canopy was fitted a bead of sealant was applied to the top of the ute liner.. So hopefully I can get most of it off, otherwise I mite need to replace the entire ute liner Anyone seen any lids with hatches? This is the ute with the carryboy on it... I checked prices of these things and they are like $3500.....

Im a little more worried about the bugs..... 20hrs worth of driving should make a nice mess on the front...

I am possibly going to be driving a new (used) XR6T home from the Gold Coast to Cairns, is it a good idea to use a car bra on these things? Or does it hinder airflow to the intercooler? Do they leave rub marks on the paint? Other option is put 5 coats of silicone based polish on the front, buy headlight/bonnet/fog light protectors?

I think Citric looks CHOICE! Well im still only looking at it. Bit hard when its 1800klms away..... Gunna do the REVS check and get him to get a RWC on it, then take a 2hr plane trip to test drive it.....

I realise that 23is is the Red book price. But u do a search on carsales/carpoint and carsguide and find me a low k's turbo ute in QLD for under $28... Its gunna be blue/silver or white in colour.... and probably stock as a rock... Then it needs wheels/springs and what not... This guy has actually accepted my offer of 29k.

I only want Citric Acid. Ive searched high and low for a Citric Acid Ute with lowish k's, and I can find bugger all in Qld.... As for the brake shudder, apparently the guy said it had the front rotors replaced only recently. The ute im looking at is Auto. Not sure on the month.

Im currently arranging to look at a 03 Citric Acid XR6 Turbo Ute with 50k on the clock, which is for sale for $30k. Its all stock except for 18's and springs. From the pics the car looks clean as. It has cloth seats, but 6 disc CD. Is there any common faults that I could check for when looking at the vehicle? Thanks.
