  1. Well.. you have to check these things :D Yeah I think I got about 3 days of running at 10psi before it slipped. Went brilliantly though.. I'll enjoy it when I get the new clutch in. Bit of a bugger though, Ford's cars have always stood up very well to mods in the past. Now my new tyres will have to wait that little bit longer.
  2. Yeah I think I'll go option 2, it's not like I'm going to go doing this car up or tracking it. It's a daily driver for work, just an entertaining one.
  3. Hmm. so I guess the Mal Wood option 2 is for me then. It was slipping on the 8psi tune as well in 6th so I'm certainly going to need a new clutch next month.. I use the car to visit clients and need it to work so I'll go back to stock for a while and get the clutch done later. Bloody ford and their sh*tty clutches!!
  4. yeah, I had an eXtreme clutch on my E30 bmw and that thing clamped like a bitch but was still drivable. I think most of the cost in the Mal wood's is the included flywheel. KPM in adelaide recommend the extreme clutches, I think there may be confusion on the forums because Xtreme clutches is an adelaide based custom clutch company while Xtreme tune is a company on here. I just don't know if I can justify the extra $600+ to get the Mal Wood when I'm not going to go hunting any extra power and won't be doing anything else to the car bar suspension.
  5. Hey all, Wacked on the generic tune last week, it's perfect. Power all over the place, much better economy and it's smooth as silk. Problem is on the 10psi tune today the clutch slipped under load. By underload I mean already changed gears, drivetrain fully engaged. Power hits 2500 rpm and up slide the revs by 200 or so rpm and back again. I backed off straight away and tried again.. yep slipping as the torque comes on. I'm not surprised considering it's a mark II BA 6sp and from what I've heard the clutch is made of poo. The question is though....if I go back to 8psi or even stock will the clutch be ok for a while or do I have to replace it now that it's slipped? My understanding is that the issue relates to the pressure plate being to weak to hold down the clutch plate. If that's the case, less torque should mean no problems correct? If I have to replace it what are Xtreme clutches in Adelaide like?? I got a quote for $880 + $360 fitting for the Xtra Heavy Duty pressure plate and clutch. I'm not planning on going past the generic tune but if I buy a clutch I want it to last for at least a few years.
  6. That's what I figure.. Might get it chucked on the dyno to check A/F ratio's otherwise.. I'll just leave it. More then happy with the power though. Now I just need to spend some money on suspension
  7. Hey guys, Just put the generic tunes put on my stock XR6t Mark II BA. 8psi runs perfectly, so does 10psi actually. It's smooth and crap loads faster. I put it on the 8psi tune 2 days ago and the 10 psi tune last night. Can't hear any pinging and it really does run perfectly. Should I still gap the plugs down to 0.8mm? I don't know what they are at the moment but if it's running so well do I need to change anything.
  8. I've had this happen as well, twice! Both times scary, but then the car is a manual and it's easy to pop it out of gear and let that baby rev! Mine was caused by the floor mats sliding forward. They give you those screw things for a reason!
  9. I get around 520kms a tank driving around the city and at work. 6sp manual turbo.
  10. Thanks mate, it was Topham Upark. Just opposite my company's main office.
  11. Ha ha , don't worry not taking the law into my own hands.
  12. Hmm. not interested in opening up the PCM. I was hoping you could just tune it via the ECU input and that would be it. Oh well.. will have to steal chooches Capa box.. :D
  13. well, I know it was a comonwhore that did the damage.. obviously their panels are made of tissue compared to the falcon.
  14. Hello all, I'm looking at getting a custom tune mainly because most people report better fuel economy (and some extra power won't be turned down :D) Do you have to get a capa box or similar to get a custom tune or can you simply get a custom tune done with the "auto learn" on the ECU switched off so it stays there? I know the dealer may flash the ECU which would then wipe my tune, but I guess in this case I could just go back to the shop and get them to upload my saved tune in around 5mins. Cheers all.
  15. Good news everyone. I spent about 2 and 1/2 hours working away at the paint marks and scratch with Meguiars ScratchX, some polishing pads and a cloth. This is the result. Very happy with the result, I still have some work to do (you can see some remains of the scratch on the left hand side) but the scratch didn't actually get past the clear coat so I should be ok. Problem is, this scratchx stuff works so bloody well I'll have to detail the entire car!
  16. yeah I guess in that case they would have trouble identifing the person. At least this way I'll have a number plate.
  17. Hello all.. Some wa*ker took it upon himself to swipe my car while it rested in the Upark in Adelaide. I parked it next to the coloumb to protect one side and parked next to a VX commonwhore assuming that the arsehat owner would take some care. Looks like I was wrong. I normally take photos of the number plates around me but the one time I don't I get whacked! I've contacted Upark and it seems the "topside" one on waymouth is the only Upark in Adelaide that actually has a proper camera setup. They are going to review footage and give me a number plate, which the lady advised I can take to the cops. Now.. this will most likely buff straight out but I want to make the f*cker that did this pay. Any clues on how I can get address details out of a number plate or how I can take this further... MUCH FURTHER?
  18. Lol.. this is total bullsh*t. I drove a brand new rental toyota (3000kms on the clock) 200kw V6 on the way to buy my XR6T 2 weeks ago. The Toyota has NOTHING on the XR6t for speed at all and of course economy is better in the arse dragger.. about the same as an NA XR6. The Toyota was smooth to drive and ok for an appliance loving retard that prefers the company of men. As for build quality.. I would say about the same honestly, both cars were perfect. Honestly though, if you prefer the Toyota, sell the falcon and give it to someone that deserves it.
  19. cool, well I know Ford have progressively dropped the sale price and up'd the cost of options.
  20. What did that include? I'm going off the BA Mark II price lists. It was actually $4,700 I think.
  21. The options are: Standard (gay little B&W) display with single CD player Presige Still the gay b&w display but with 6 stacker. Then Premium Sound (the one on the left) That has the colour screen and subwoofer system with 6 stacker. The one on the right is premium sound with climate control or climate control and sat nav. There is no difference on the screen it just means that the car has climate control. If the owner selected the "luxury pack" when they purchased the car they get premium leather seats, the colour screen and climate control. If they didn't then there is no other way to get the climate control on it's own. (I think) Because this is a $5000au option most people only go for the $1,100au premium sound option. So I would assume people that spend $5000 on a screen, climate and seats would normally also get the auto.
  22. Yeah saw the cruise. Normally I like going for cruises but that is to far away for me. I live out south.
  23. It's pretty easy when you have a decent camera and a great lens. Most of those shots were taken with an apature of 1.8 or 2 which is pretty shallow and gives that cool bluring look. I need to find somewhere better to take some nice shots though. The closeups look ok but the car shots look crap because of the complex background. I'll post some better shots on the weekend. Cheers for the comments guys.
  24. No processing just straight from the camera.
