  5. ill just jump in here........ what are the turbos like once they get a few km's on them..... I know a standard 6 or 8 could put 300000kms+ on an engine but will a turbo engine last that long? Are there any engines that have got high kms that ppl know of with turbo failure?
  6. lol I thought you were me!!!!! hahaha nah I am the same age in tville and in the same boat as you! dont go to a dealer. I am going to buy one early next year and will probably go through a broker and jsut tell them what I want and just wait till they find it! as for a loan...... save up as much as you can as the deposit and shop around (try www.ratecity.com.au) I found it fairly helpful. although if your job lets you salary sacrifice have a look at that option. do some calcs because it is better for high income earners clocking up a few kms to make it viable. insurance I was very surprised. currently wih aami and havent had any trouble but got a quote through for a 2005 BaMk11 manual turbo and was like $915 although I have held insurance since I was a bit over 16 and comprehensive for 3 years with a clean driving record. this quote was a bit over $100 less than what aami can do for me. also from what I have noticed there isnt much around our area. so shop around and be prepared to buy from brissy or even interstate to get what you want. you will be surprised on car transport costs and will def come in alot cheaper buying down south than the overpriced cars up here! Anyway let me know if you have any more questions I have been researching the exact same thing for a while!
  7. well at least there will be heaps of Bseries turbo's for sale for me
  8. mmmmmmmm soudns good but puts me in a predicament.... iw as going to get a Bseries turbo after they are released..... I have a feeling I am going to be a little tempted
  9. got to www.cannex.com.au and see what the best rated insurance is for you! it helped me heaps
  10. You could get something like this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...I:IT&ih=020 I thought it was pretty cool
  11. that would just be a patch and prep job then your respray. Wouldnt be structural (I doubt hard lids would have much structural support anyway) should be a cheap repair or you could have a crack at it yourself for fun although for something that small the cost of getting all the materials to begin with prob isnt worth it
  12. where abouts is it damaged? fibreglass is a bit of a pain to work with but its all about the finish you give it and prep before you get it resprayed. I would prob advise ringing a few boat builders and try and get a quote. it would be hard to give anymore advice without knowing whats actually damaged on it.

  15. haha yeah.....would be intereesting to track down the owner and find out what issues he's had over the course of all those km's!!! there isnt much of a car there! I thought maybe 12k max
