I love the chase near the start of Terminator 3. The Bourne Identity also has a great car chase. Lots of others too, but these two are the ones that come to mind straight away.

Nothing comes close to Bullitt! There was a movie made around 1971 called Vanishing Point, starred Elliot Gould and a Dodge Challenger and was about racing the clock across some part of the US, it had some good action in it and the end was different with the Challenger smacking the blade of a dozer used as a road block at full clip.

What about the Matrix reloaded car chase scene. The amount of cars they total in this is bloody insane. I also liked the car/Crane chase scene in T3.

How can you possibly go past the Mustang & the Dodge Charger in BULLIT?... It goes for 9 mins 40secs & actually took 3 weeks to film!.. 2 Mustangs & 2 Chargers were used, only one Mustang still survives! Actual speeds reached during filming were up to 110 MPH, remembering this was 1968... Before computer imagery technology!

Bullitt was insane,an actual fair dinkum car chase thru the streets of San Francisco-The way that Mustang Steve McQueen took those jumps was brilliant

Yes Tongueboy, Vanishing Point was a classic. Bullit (original) is just legendary. It's hard to pick just one movie car chase, they are all very good. Blues Brothers would have to be up there as one of the most destructive. There's a new Italian Job movie out soon with a car chase involving new Minis so that should be interesting. Unfortunately most remakes fail to capture the true spirit of the originals, these days relying more on computer trickery rather than acting talent.
