  1. If I remove the pcv and just run it as a breather though it would be fine? And cap it off with a plug where it goes into the manifold I don't see what the issue could be. I don't see the need for the valve other than emissions and sucking oil back into the inlet manifold to burn it
  2. Yeah I thought that may have been the case, I'm only running 20psi on e85 so considering -8an is far bigger than oem ford garbage I'm guessing it should work well. Has anyone had any experience with the pro flow catch cans with the filter on top? I'm a strong believer in doing the job right the first time and don't want a cheap unit that will perform poorly.
  3. So the pcv valve is just for emissions from factory to keep it legal? I understand pcv valves to an extent just wasn't sure whether pulling it off and capping the vacuum line would alter anything.
  4. Planning on buying a catch can setup and wanting to run -8an hose and fittings. I've searched but still can't find a concrete answer whether or not you can run both pcv and breather line into same can and just vent to atmo? I do realise that venting to atmo is not legal and it will cause greenies to cry but hey that's what I plan on doing. I've seen a fair few setups with both breathers going into one can and am wondering if it still works correctly due to negative and positive pressure? I've noticed a fair bit of oil in the inlet manifold and also pre turbo and would like to get rid of it Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks for the heads up boys, I'll be in touch with Dave in the new year!
  6. Sounds like making the trip to Mackay is the way to go, does anyone know if Dave has any experience with the 6466? Potentially wanting to fit some tbre stage 1 cams aswell. Car is tuned by real dyno in Brissy at the moment on 98 with the baby turbo and I can't fault it.
  7. hey guys recently moved to gladstone and am after the best options on where to take my car for its next round of go fast bits. have heard only good things about cpv at mackay but not sure if I want to drive 4 and a bit hours.. has anyone used insane performance at rocky before? next mods will be gtx35 or precision 6466, valve springs and e85 plus all the other gear blah blah car already has pw stage 2 cooler, turboside intake, battery relo, exhaust and injectors. thanks in advance
  8. Had my fg ute for a while, had kings Ssl springs put in about a year ago and from day one it began creaking and being noisey. taken it back to the shop 3 times each time the noise not having changed after picking it up. Noise is a lot more apparent when driving slowly around car parks or going up gutters into driveways and stop start driving. Upon inspection of the chassis the 2nd time I took it back they thought it was the eye bushes making noise so they over tightened the sh*t out of it causing the crush tube to rub on the chassis rail and somewhat recess itself into the rail, found this out when trying to drop leaf springs from hangers and couldn't, needed to remove entire hanger to drop spring. Took it back a 3rd time and they confirmed it was all fixed, well noise came back a week later and when it was pulled apart I saw that instead of rectifying their mistake they just drilled a 20mm hole in the chassis so the crush tube wouldn't make contact with the chassis and covered everything in grease. My understanding is the crush tube still rubs on the hanger creating a noise and the bolt only being 12 or 14mm (not 100% sure on size) is bouncing around not fitting snug in the chassis anymore. The diff oil has been changed before and everything is super pro bushings. I will call the shop and tell them to rectify but have since had no luck, I've made sure to get receipts stating they worked on it and tried to fix it. If anyone knows what I can do to rectify this it would be great, the noise is driving me nuts! Thanks in advance
  9. Yeah I'll have to bite the bullet and take it back there for a 3rd time, I discussed in detail what the problem is yet they still just sprayed everything with silicon spray the first time, they said noise had gone, pulled out of the shop and reversed straight back in 2nd time they pulled the leaf spring out and placed a washer between the chassis rail and bush to prefer metal rubbing into the chassis, they said noise was gone but was a hole lot worse 3rd time is a charm I guess! Haha yeah little niggling things do frustrate me, oh well it will be fixed eventually.
  10. I'm in QLD so I'll have to see what they say in relation to fixing it. The company has accepted responsibility and tried fixing it last week, the guy said the workmanship warranty will extend another year now, obviously if they let it leave the shop it isn't going to cause a safety issue, more so an annoying noise. I appreciate the help mate I'll chase it up with head office and see how I go
  11. Yeah I've had a fair few conversations with the store about it, I can't see it being to much of a major issue. Is it legal to weld the recessed section of the hole back to flush with the chassis? I'll be taking it to my mechanic to look at it and write a report/have a better look at potential fixes. If it cannot be repaired a phone call will be made to head office telling them to buy me a new ute haha
  12. the front end is pretty quiet, the shocks appear fine as you can jump on the tray as much as you like without it making a noise, only when the rear end is flexing around and moving it makes the noise, its really bad when driving up a gutter on the passenger side. its just the rear left hand leaf spring that makes the awful noise, that grease may work, surely the suspension shop would know that's a possible fix as there didn't look like there was any grease in there when it was dismantled? I'm more concerned about the damage done to the chassis from the over tightening of the bolt though
  13. so I got my ute lowered a while back now and ever since it has been creaking. I thought nothing of it but it finally starting irritating me as it progressively became worse over time. I used new ssl king leaves, ssl king springs up front and bilsteins all round and it was great, until it started creaking... it used to go away whenever I coated the crap out of it with wd40 but always came back, eventually I took it back to the shop to get fixed, they tightened everything but it has come back with a vengance, now its loud all the time and sending me crazy. pulled it apart and found the bolts on the eye bush to have been over tightened and have pushed the crush tubes in the bushes a few mm into the chassis, causing the crush tube to be recessed into the chassis, we couldn't drop the leaves without completely removing the leaf hangers that bolt to the rail. they tried fixing it by installing a washer in between the chassis rail and bush and pushing the crush tube back into the centre of the bush and re tightening. this has not worked and is driving me crazy. if anyone has had this problem before it would be a great help to know how it was rectified. The shop who fitted it are a big mob and have accepted liability of what they did wrong, although its been back twice now and still no fix.
  14. Ahh They are Bosch 1000s Yeah going from a growler intake to turbo side is a huge difference in noise, sounds incredible!
  15. Ev14s bud, knew I forgot something haha
