Hi Guys,

I just got back from a Brissy/Goldy trip! Went up to see Incubus at the Entertainment Centre in Boondall(sp?)! OH MY GOD, was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. Wasn't a real long show, their set was around 1hr 30 including encore but damn it was entertaining.

We were up near DJ Killmore (about 15m back), who didnt feature as much as I would've liked, ie-the unpopular Battlestar Scratchelatica but was still good, and he did have a good try at the Theramin!

The night was good, with solos by all, drums was impressive but only so-so I was told but all the rest, bass, lead guitar and even bongo drum thing...COOL! :gooff:

The song of the night HAD to have been 'A Certain Shade of Green' (off Science), the whole crowd went off and I, for one was fully into the headbang of it all :censored: . Other tops songs included "Pardon Me" and "Are you In" during the encore but the whole way through it was impressive IMHO.

All the way back to our humble digs at Royal Pines (Corner Suite much reccomended ) there was no need for music as we were all still buzzing and having a good perv at a Blue Pearl T3 TE50 at the driver change just topped it off.

Would be good to know if any of the forummers were there? it seemed a fairly even spread of patrons, from Hippies with dreads to punks and metal nuts with Korn etc everything.

The only thing that pissed me off was the prices of any kind of Collectors stuff, basic caps were about $35 and shirts were up around $50 :censored: nothing to show I was even there :censored:

Cheers from one happy little incubite :)

Brendan

Sounds good. Gigs are expensive now days so I didn't think I was enough of a fan to fork out the dosh. What I have heard to date is quite good. The guy can sing. Would have been an interesting gig. Glad you had a pearler.

Personally, I'm still getting over the (Fear Factory/Static-X/Korn) gig, mate what a gig that was :censored: :censored: :censored:

Yeah, from what I heard that Korn gig was awesome. I was in the opposite boat, not enough of a fan to see them play, didn't know that Static X were playing though, they are awesome!

Friend who I went with also went to Korn and was like...Yeah, these guys are cool but Korn were better..the she proceded to mosh and elbow me in the face etc.

Thanks Thunder was a great night...worth every bit of brokeness that I am now!

I was there as well and I thought it was the best concert I have ever been to. We don't get many good acts out here very often and I thought it was just spectacular.

I wanted to fly to sydney on the friday night and see them again, but my wallet said no.

Hey XFWannaBA,

Sorry to bug you but do you know the name of the song that Brandon Boyd sung with the guitar. He did a guitar solo and it was a slowish song but I can't recall what the name of it is. I quite liked it.

If you don't know that's cool.

It wasn't the cover of "My Girl" was it?

He sung something like:

"I got alot of love....under my guitar" <Insert every female going crazy here>

"Cant remember the rest of the words, so this song wont go very far"

There was another slow one, but I honestly can't remember hearing it on any album before, may've been from Morning View?!?Not exactly my favourite album.Other than that, no idea, I was just blown away by the whole thing. It was my first concert :) I wanted to go to Sydney too but wallet, brain, body all said NOOOO in unison.

Were you sitting MJH or were you down in the thick of it?Have you been a fan of them very long? I went with all "Science" fans but I prefer "Make Yourself" more. What do you reckon was the best song?

Thunder, Im listening to Static-X-"Wisconsin Death Trip" right now, damn it's good.Annoyed I dont have more of them

Yep I was there and I must say that it was the best concert io have ever been to.

The song that Brandan sung was not off morning view but was a new song which he said the name of but again, my ears were ringing and I cannot remember.

In regard to merchandise, I had the same thought, 45 bucks for a tour shirt and 35 bucks for a cap really doesnt provide great value.

I had ordered incubus shirts from the US and after conversion to the aus dollar it worked out to be 22 dollars a shirt including delivery. My mate and I wore them to the concert and got some inquires while walking round asking where you go em and told em.

Again was a great concert and also contemplated seeing them in sydney on the friday but same reason as you, wallet, wife, baby to consider.

Also I could not believe the amount of trout that was there, mind you there were some mullets as well.

Cheers

Clay

Where did you get the shirts from Cassius, site etc? I would be interested in getting one of those adn Im sure everyone I went with be as well, the chicks I went with were even MORE pissed of with the stuff they could get. The were more expensive and didn't even have anything about the tour, as one eloquently put it : "If I paid $50 for a shirt I would at least want people to know I was AT THE f*ckING CONCERT!"

Do any Brissy people know if there was a review of it anywhere?Would love to get a copy.

You can get the shirts from www.goodrock.com.

They have many bands listed including one of the best INCUBUS!!!!

Shirts are $11.99US but we ordered a combine total of 12. ( 6 x XL & 6 x L)

Worked out as I said something like $22 AUS after converstion and postage. (Will work out more expensive if you only order 1 shirt).

They do not list the concert shirt there yet but I recon once the band tours around the US they will surely be up, and that's when I will get one.

Other US sites list them but are a little more expensive.

There are a some aussie sites that sell them but not the range of what goodrock do, plus they are way more expensive.

Happy shopping.

Cass
