Hi all!

Well after going through all of the paperwork for a novated lease (it was painful) I'm getting an XR6T soon, in Mercury Silver, with leather trim and premium sound, XR floormats, XR scuff plate inserts. And headlight protectors. Oh yeah - and it's an auto.

My first new car ever, so I'm incredibly excited!!!

I should find out this afternoon when the delivery date is.

Thanks to all on these forums - I've read some great info on the premium sound system being able to play DVD's, do SatNav, etc., and some important info on tinting.

See you on the roads!

Phil

They say everyone has a twin.

Painful lease paperwork, first new car and options that sound familiar.... :hrmm:

Enjoy.

Phil,

Can't wait for your impressions as you drive her out of the lot, straight to your first Team HgAg meeting. ;)

New-cummers aren't required to bring lamingtons or underwear.

Oh, and if you need help coping with the wait ... (2 weeks, pfft!) ... just head for your local liquor barn.

BTW, Whatchawearn' ... :hrmm:

Phil,

I know what you are goign through, I ordered mine 9 days ago. An XR6T in Mercury Silver (an auto), with XR sports leather trim, premium sound, XR floormats, XR scuff plate inserts, tinted windows, mud spats, Ming protection inside and out.

My delievry date will be found out next week. Can't wait. The dealer said 4-6 weeks, so that puts it at about 2-4 weeks now.

Thanks to everyone who helped with info or through my reading of other forums.

Cheers

Wiggy

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

Just for the record, I was about to order a Phantom XR6T but at the final minute, chose a Mercury Silver (with appropriate colour matching stuff inside). Whilst I liked the Phantom, each time I saw one on the road, I liked it less and less. I've had the Mercury Silver XR6 wallpaper on my PC for a few weeks and I like it more and more each time I see it .. so I had a nervous sort of feeling getting the Phantom, but from when I made the phone call to my novation company and changed the colour, I've felt at ease the whole time. I'll have the car for at least 3 years (maybe more) so I don't want to regret the colour choice one day down the track. The Mercury Silver (or as I describe it to my friends 'like, a dirty silver colour') looks more professional, sleek, and dare I say it - futuristic? I have a dark grey motorbike too, they'll look nice together

Again, thanks for the great advice from those in the know. I've chosen Solartint in Belconnen to do the tint job, a guy at work had them do it on his Subaru Liberty wagon and he won't shut up about how good a job they did (he even emailed me some pics). They know about the whole 'rear window aerial' business and have some fancy non-metallic but non-dye tint for it.

And finally - HgAg doesn't mean someone is old - I'm 28. I just like stylish rather than garish things, especially when it's as great an expense as a new car!

Thanks again,

Phil
