Besides the less response from the bottom end (coming from a V8) this car is great, SSS has got to be the best part of itYou'll love it I'm sure. What cars have you been driving in the past? Guest Banun Guests Posted 15/02/03 06:49 AM Share Posted 15/02/03 06:49 AM The XR6T replaces a 1998 VT Exec with 190,000K.The last car that made me smile was a Cordia Turbo many moons ago.I don't think I have waited for something with such excitement since puberty!! Guest suttoinc Guests Posted 15/02/03 07:55 AM Share Posted 15/02/03 07:55 AM I just got mine on Tuesday. I had read about how good the performance was, I had heard the engine and seen the colour Phantom but I did not know how many people would stop dead in their tracks looking at the thing. The other day at school (I'm a teacher) a whole bunch of kids just stood around and stared at it so I pressed the panic button and laughed at them as they all ran away. I have never seen this amount of attention directed at an Australian made car, since the days of "hey Charger" !!( if anyone remembers them?),...Ford have not just built a great car,.......They have created a "LEGEND" !! Guest raoulc Guests Posted 15/02/03 10:54 AM Share Posted 15/02/03 10:54 AM I got my Phanton middle of Dec and am getting used to all the stares and people pulling me over to ask all the standard questions. The funniest one was my car parked next to an E55 Mercedes Coupe - at least $200k worth of a car but there were 5 guys pointing at my car and walking around it staring inside and no one even notice the Merc.Needless to say I'm extreemly happy with my car. Its got over 5000ks on it. The only complaint is a period whine on the differential but Ford will fix it when they believe it's there. If you can afford it get the 18in wheels and leathers - it adds a whole lot of class to the car. The premium brakes makes stopping fade free and the premium sound equals the sound of that turbo. It is a legend. Guest womandriver Guests Posted 16/02/03 08:55 AM Share Posted 16/02/03 08:55 AM I love it. Also getting used to the stares. Feels kind of like being famous.Mine has just come back from its first holiday and it is running better than ever. Fuel consumption on country roads was down around 10.8, though a few days of city driving and I'm back up to around 13.0.Can't believe how well it handles for such a large car. Until I took a car in my salary package, I had always driven small Euros (most recently a Peugeot 306 XSi and various Italians before that) and while the XR6T still seems a little soft in comparison over undulating roads, otherwise it is great. Still own some other cars, but this is the only one I drive on a regular basis, including if I'm just going out for a fun drive. The engine is a truly beautiful thing. :o Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/947-owners-only/#findComment-10000 Share on other sites
