Fg Xr6 Turbo Tailshaft Centre Bearing Replacement

The centre bearing on my tailshaft on my 09 fg xr6 turbo ute is stuffed. Knocks under load..

My local dealer quoted me $1700 for a replacement tailshaft plus fitting. What a joke.....

Are there any other options or aftermarket replacements for this bearing?

I had my tail shaft centre bearing cut out and a bf centre bearing put in, along with thick walled shafts. Including labour it was $1200. Just go to a tail shaft specialist. The bf centre bearings are replaceable

I think a quick fix, flog it and get a new one is on the cards.

Herrod do a new tough one with Centre Bearing upgrade and Uni's for $1880, GJ do them for 1800, not sure what they are rated to, but they both use uni's and uprated centre bearings

my center bearing needs doing soon Was recommended a place 

Gibson driveshafts Edgeworth nsw $685 to modify the shaft to fit a replaceable uni joint including new rear rear section

add $187 if trans end rubber coupling is needed

add $110 remove and refit if needed

have not had the work done but they have been around along time and deal with all types heavy equipment.

 

I also saw on ebay from B & Z auto  parts repair in Bankstown nsw same thing for $600 without the trans rubber

just pickup at fit yourself

Hi just curious if any ones change there centre bearing on a XR6T FGX manual,few guys are saying there got a PEENED centre joint not to sure what they mean? Thanks.
