21/06/12 02:26 AM21/06/12 02:26 AM #1 I need to adjust my headlights down because the new HIDs I installed point up to far. I have found the adjusters for left to right , but do we have one in our headlights for up and down?

21/06/12 04:41 AM21/06/12 04:41 AM #3 Author Is it? I tried both and though they just moved each reflector right to left haha. I'll do it at night so I can see what the light is doing thanks alot!
21/06/12 04:55 AM21/06/12 04:55 AM #4 You tried it during the day???? How did you know of it worked? Only takes a couple of turns to make a huge difference. Doesn't look like much in a garage but it makes a big difference on the road.
21/06/12 05:40 AM21/06/12 05:40 AM #5 Author No no I did it at dusk but I was just watching to see I the reflectors even moved before I tried. When I tried with the lights on it just seemed to move left to right.
15/12/12 11:05 AM15/12/12 11:05 AM #6 something else to think about is adjusting the globe when you "twist" it home. I noticed that the flood of light varies as the globe turns. I used a carpark at night and was about 50 metres back from a high fence to get a good reflection of the pattern on high and low beam. I also noticed an irritating vibration of the headlights, mostly on high beam when going over a bump. Backing the globe off a bit by twisting it back, finding a firmer spot inhibites it a bit but will change the pattern again. I think this is due to the shifting of the centre of gravity of the globe as it moves in and out from high to low beam. Standard globes dont do this and sit firmer.Just sayin.
23/12/12 10:55 AM23/12/12 10:55 AM #7 Nose the front of your car right up close to a wall (garage door), turn your lights on and put a piece of black electrical tape where the top of the beam hits the wall, then adjust the light up just a tad, about half the width of the piece of black tape. This would normally be more than enought for majority of cars on the road, this is how we use to do it back at the old workshop, works well and only takes 5 minutes.
