Absolutley Fantastic, some parts were accurate to the original masterpiece, some were not so accurate but it's a lot to cover in 3 hours and you have to add a wee bit of Hollywood magic in there from time to time.

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DIRECTORS CUT :banghead:

I lurved it.

I give it the good `ol :banghead:

OK... got a question.

I am going to see the lord of the rings trillogy marathon next week.  Apparently its like 10 hours long.

I have never seen any of the movies, or read the book, so I really have no idea what its about.

Is it action packed on the edge of the seat entertainment the whole way through, or am I likely to fall asleep and annoy people with my snoring.??

One word of advice........DON'T take a super large coke in with you, you'll last about 2.87 hrs before your doing the 'tribal war-dance' as you try to hold your bursting bladder.....At least us guys can hold onto it to get a few more minutes in (before we have to dash to the dunny!)

Have ordered #1 son that he will sit through it on Boxing Day!!

Try 3 Crown lagers during the movie and 2 glasses of Fanta and an espresso coffee before the movie....lol.

I held onto the bitter end, even when viewing the 20 minute, tear jerking, end of the damn movie.....Man I was swimming but I held on like a trooper!!!

( And the Elves left with who??? And who was still alive??? ....oops)......

Great Movie

The elephant battle was awesome. When Legolas took out that elephant was unreal. Most parts of the movie related to the book but as ed says you can only fit into 3 hours so much Would have like to see more battle scenes than the last 20 minutes thou

Bloody hell. Went to the cinemas yesterday (Saturday) and most sessions were sold out. I can't belive it. I'll have another go today ;)

BTW, where is Ken? He obviously liked the movie so much, that he's probably gone all "gaga" and can't speak or type a word of english and forgotten how to turn on his computer ;)

Finally saw the movie last night. Let's just say that it was one of the better movies I have seen that's for sure. There is one thing I don't get. Why are people complaining about the last 20 minutes being slooow etc. I recon it's bloody refreshing. About time a movie that shows you what happens to the characters after their big adventure. With some movies you get the sense of "I wish there was some more", and I think that Return of the King gives you that with the slow last 20 minutes...I can't wait for the DVD now.

My verdict on the movie - a 10/10, even with the 10/10 I give it, Star Wars (Flame suit on) is still my favourite movie. Why? Nastalgic reasons.
