Herrod Leather & Side Airbags

Mornin' lads.

Took one of my mate's XR8's for a spin last night (my first time behind the wheel of BA XR!!!). Besides noticing the silly grin on my face from reaching the 80kph speed limit on Gungahlin Dr. in the blink of an eye at half throttle :o , I noticed my mate has side airbags.

Is it possible to have side airbags as well as aftermarket leather...specifically Herrod Motorsport's very cool looking leather seats? Or do you have to have factory seats?

I have asked that same question to0 not only Herrods but a couple Ford dealers, herrods says no problem and some ford dealers say no way. In the end I decided to hold off as it seems a waist to cover new cloth seats. I figure I'll wait a while until the seats start looking their age and then start the search again.

Hmmm...that's interesting.

I hate the standard interior in the XR's. So it wouldn't worry me at all covering a brand new interior. Hence why I want the leather. It's nice and all, but I want it to cover the ugly interior trim.

So it might be able to be done. Good stuff.
