lol, I know. I am usually cleaning up the messes that other bookkeepers make & then having arguments with clients because they believe that what their previous bookkeeper said was right coz they don't like the bad news! I am actually 1 step away from being a qualified accountant but decided not to go in that direction. I have 20 years experience in the industry and have done corporate accounting & small business so am very well rounded.

Unfortunately I am not looking for new clients, I am actually giving them away because they make me tired and have worn me out! I concentrate mainly on Pit Lane now because my husband actually does listen to me believe it or not..lol & I a confess, I am a bit of a car freak at heart too!

dead set, my main thought was just to use my abn and business name for support in IT support.. Say a business needs my work, they can claim again my abn right??? man I need to think this through... Dont want to cause more burden for me

I think you do need to think through exactly what you want to do and get proper advice. If you set yourself up right to start with it will save you less hassle down the track.

Not worth the hassle at all. Unless you have insurance do not go near business' as you will loose everything if one little thing goes horribly wrong. Doing works for friends and family always ends up with you going far far above and beyond and getting paid very little for it.

If you're not already in outsourced IT, go find a job in that area, discuss with the owner your thoughts on being a partner in the next 2yrs and work your way toward that. If not that, then work your way toward profit sharing etc.

Work off someone elses success. I had the opportunity to start my own IT business and would have easily turned over 250k in the first year, but was not worth the stress in my life. Working non stop and being at the mercy of clients is far from fun, good to be able to throw your hands up and say F it at 5pm and go home to rest with no worries :D
