Wow you do have an array of materials, well be sure to look into them for when my HgAg arrives on Friday week. You just have the standard wheels don't you. So the eagle cleaner is ok on them.

Yep, the Eagle cleaner is great ... just spray it on, wait 2-3 minutes, high-pressure hose it off, check for any missed bits. Great on the fronts (premium brakes) where there's a lot of fine dust/powder from the pads.

I then wash the car and as part of that I use the brush you can see in the pic on the mags, just to be sure. Then before the mags dry naturally, you've got to dry them (clean soft cloth) to avoid water spots.

Well worth the effort! :huh::thumbsup:

I've been told microfibre cloths work wonders on bug guts when used with good soapy water.... Going to get one and try it out.

I use AutoGlym wash with a chamois (sponges tend to leave fine scratches) to clean the car. Then I use AutoGlym Super Resin polish to remove the watermarks and to protect the paint I use AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection. I polish and protect the paint at least once a month. As for the wheels the best product I found was Eagle One A to Z wheel cleaner (safe on all finishes). The only problem with AutoGlym is that it is slightly dearer than other products available.

Team AAOCOTS use and recommend Gold wash. Spend a couple of hundred bucks and buy yourself the whole kit and kaboodle.. wash, polish, scratch-x, wax, pads, wheel stuff..

And I thought the wife was expensive. you get that ...

What he said. :thumbsup:

Including the bit about the wife...... :)

In regard to the bugs on the front of your car. I get it a lot as well being up here in Cairns.

What I do is on my way home I spend 2 -3 minutes at the local car wash. You know the ones with the gurney sprayers. I use the sprayer only and get the majority of the bugs off.

It costs two bucks and I reckon it gets off 99% of the crap off. Then when I get a spare chance (which is usually the next day) I just wash it as normal. Clean as a whistle.

If I have just got a couple of bugs at the end of the day, I use a maguires lint free cloth and maguires spray wax ( I think it is a light detailing one) and it keeps it looking tip top.

Hope this helps

Polish at least once a month? Surely you are going to end up with more scratches. A good coating of polish should last several months with regular washing.
