Hi guys, thanks for your help in advance with my first post. I own a BF1 built June 2006 and am wondering if anyone has documented confirmation that my car definitely is fitted with the F6 bottom end. Id really like to know for sure before I start modding the car. I have heard different dates for the stronger bottom end including only BF2's came with them. I have a friend who works in the service department at my local Ford dealer and he did a few checks for me with a result that only BF2's were fitted with F6 internals.

I was under the impression that anything from ba mk11 onwards had the f6 bottom end but let me know if you find out anything more cause id like to know aswell, I have a November 2005Bf t-ute

Incorrect - BA mk 2's still had the weaker BA engine....

As did the BF ml 1's pre 06/06.

If the build date of your car is 06/06, I would think its going to be very touch and go...

I dont think anyone has a definitive date as to when the post 06/06 F6 internalled engines were put in place.

If your friend at Ford is not able to help - possibly the only absolute way of finding out would be to crack the block and inspect whats in there............

I dont think there was a date that it changed. there would be 06/06's out there with ba bottom end as they would have used them till stock was gone.

it wasnt a selling point or anything afaik.

my understanding is to haver the typhoon bottem end has to be made after 06/06, cause the mk 2 came out from then and only the mk2 on had typhoon bottom end hope that helps. so really if it is a bf mk1 I don't think you have typhoon bottom.
