Hi Guys,

Need a little help; I have installed a carputer and have had issues getting any sound when connected to the Aux port. I have tested my IPod, IPhone and CD walkman and get sound when connected on the same cable and Aux port. I tried my laptop and no sound as well I don't know whets going on its driving me crazy, it could be a easy fix that I have missed.

Thanks for the help.

Plug your Ipod headphones directly into the port of your PC that you are using and just check that you get sound coming out of the PC for starters.

So you are plugging your laptop, carputer and ipod into the exactly the sames 3.5mm stereo plug in your car using the same cable and everything? If so then I can't help you as it should work, basically it is impossible to not work in that situation..............

I am getting a new cable to test out as I believe this is causing the issue.

The aux input in the car is not well made when I plug my computer in I can get no sound or only a left channel what I have to do is slowly remove the plug from the aux input a couple of mil at a time and I get both channels, if your car puter is going to me a permanent fixture all you need to do is remove the aux input and join it directly to computer cable from the headphone jack on the computer. Also while you are testing it make sure that the cable has some free play as it is not the tightest of connections which can also upset apple cart.
