Hey yeh. I was thinking of cutting an eraser or any thing in that form to size and wedge it in the flicky part of the mirror.. But then I just crank it and forget about the noise.

Yeah that flicky part of the mirror didn't make a difference in my case.

Unfortunately the louder I cranked the music the louder the rattle got... so after months of scientific research I developed this method which has a pretty high success rate so far ;)

Doh! I guess now that its mounted a lot more solidly to the windscreen the vibration can't "escape" and rattle the whole mirror assembly and the thing starts to move/drop as a result.

You need to somehow stop those joints from moving as easily. I'm thinking glue of some sort, but that's probably a bit too permanent.

Try lower the middle section fully down, and tilt up the mirror face up so you can view out the rear window, and see if that helps. (instead of having the whole thing stick out to the rear of the car)

eg,

mirrorh.jpg

tried it this morning,worked!

finally have solved this stupid mirror rattling!!!

thanks guys, now the bigger problem which may never be fixed...BOOT RATTLE!

Farkkk I am a genius or what!!

I think the next Nobel Prize should be awarded to me for suuuure!!!!

As for the boot rattle.. put some foam behind the licence plate and screw it back on. that's peoples main source of boot rattle hey.

Apart from doing that, your only other solution is to dynamat it, but that's expensive and it does't eliminate every rattle.

I'll leave that one up to you buddy, if you find a simple solution then let me know :)
