mercuryturbo Oh look.... a real car, with no hair dryer Donating Members 1,724 Member For: 18y 10m 5d Gender: Male Location: Fear and Loathing in Callala Bay Posted 06/05/09 08:22 AM Share Posted 06/05/09 08:22 AM Well I think my relationship with my T has just about run its course & im thinking I want to get back into an 8.As the title says I want a TE50 5.6 & im wondering if anyone out has any experience with these beasts as the road tests im reading on the net reckon they vibrate their asses off at idle (not a bad thing IMO) & then get a really bad vibe as they rev out (could be a bad thing). They also say that their torque monsters which is what I really want & lighting up the rears is as easy as breathing on the throttle esp in the 5 spd cars which is also what I want.Anyway sorry for all the questions guys, if I could just drive down to the local car yard & test drive one I would but their not exactly thick on the ground & I'd rather ask here first before I start doing the leg work.Cheers Steve Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/57411-2002-te50-56-stroker/ Share on other sites

When for a run in it. Not bad, came close to spinning the top of second if it hit a bump in the road etc. Low speed drive train shunt they refer to is no worse then any car I've been in with a T56 in it.Revving out the one I was in was pretty sweet I thought, was the first Ford I'd been in that I would ever consider buying as I was a devout Expensive Daewoo nut back then. Under-Pants Member 2,103 Member For: 16y 11m 18d Gender: Not Telling Posted 06/05/09 09:12 AM Share Posted 06/05/09 09:12 AM Ford probably lost a lot of money producing them, as the engine is filled with 'expensive' goodies... Nice internals, roller-rockers etc etcThe owners who then brought them new would have lost even more, as a T3 can go for about the cost of an early BA XR6T these days - which makes someone who buys one now the winner, as they cost over $60,000 new IIRC.My mate purchased Simon XFT's old T3, it was a stock manual with a Rip-Shifter & a tune from memory, it went pretty good - felt much much better/stronger than a BOSS motor & sounded the ducks guts as well. They feel really roomy inside. If you can get one for a good price, say 15-20k, although I have nothing but utter disrepute for the AU Falcon, it would be a pretty good buy & a nice cruiser mate Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/57411-2002-te50-56-stroker/#findComment-873030 Share on other sites
