Thankyou, your a champ, gives me a good start...and would this same bush be used with aftermarket shocks such as pedders?

Im assuming you mean a bush that sits around the top shock mount bolt?

Do you have a part number I can quote?

I'm going to be tesing an "unbreakable" diff bush soon... if it doesnt vibrate through the car, they'll be worth looking into more.

Update on teh rear shock bushings...I went to ford spares, and they showed me on screen the exploded parts diagram for the rear suspension assembly, and there is no part number for rear shock bushings.

I had the wheels off the car over the holidays, and with the rear suspension un weighted, I couldn't replicate the clunking sounds.

Im stumped, could be lower or upper control arm bushes?

Thought I would leave the other thread for techical fitting info and this for problem diagnosing! I have a slight knock in the rear end when I put it into 1st or reverse and move off. Got under the car last night and the diff bush looks ok. I wouldn't say there is a crack in the bush but there is a shallow cut. Either way it doesn't look damaged ebough to cause knocking. For those in the know when the bush is cactus what actually causes the knocking/noise etc. I have a replacement fulcrum bush but am now deciding if I should go to the effort of replacing the std ford one.

Any further news on this? I also have the rattling noise over slights bumps etc, and stuffed diff bushes... Looking to have them replaced under warranty, then do all the future ones myself. This design has so much potential, just flawed in these few areas...

I'd say the Superpro Polyurethane bush is unbreakable, but its noisier than standard. :beerchug:

nothing is unbreakable....

also those "holes"in the bushes are there for a reason... they are called voided bushes.... they have the rubber where its needed to support what its holding in certain spots but sections where it isnt load bearing are empty to reduce vibration transfer to the vehicle..... in other words if they were all solid the car would be very harsh ride and noisy and vibrate alot more than normal.
