Everytime I go behind a truck I cringe....

Always hearing a rain of stones on my windscreen and I can only imagine what they do to my bonnet...

I have like 4 stone chips in the bonnet now....need to get some touch up paint..

I've just finished cleaning mine after the trip and I've discovered a couple of little chips and marks ... nothing too dramatic and I knew it would happen, so I was prepared. :(

The spats certainly keep the sides of the car cleaner than they would have been, but I didn't expect them to prevent stone damage from other cars, etc.

I would be interested to repeat the trip without the ming paint protection, just to see if it did actually prevent many chips?

Yes mud Spats are all well and good untill you get a bit of that Meguiars wet look pollish type stuff on them, then its an entirely different story.....

As they look all grey and crappy (a bit like Mercury silver cars do all over.. <_< I want to see if I can start a testosterone filled battle to make the Auto/Manual debate look tame...I can see it now, coloured gang wars).

But seriously, does anyone know the best way to get pollish off them?

What did he say about the best colour going around, Mercury Silver!

He has a white one, so what would he know ... my precious ... <_<

Don't know about the polish thing, ming paint protection, so no polish for me.

YCL,

Try the Meguiars Vinyl Cleaner. I used it on my mud spats and it fixed the dredded "wet look" marks...

I think I'm getting conned here.

Pay good money for wet look polish...

Pay even more money for polish remover...

Hmmmm. :innocent:

... or, don't get wet look polish all over the place ...

 Hi. I've got the mudspats and think they're great. I also have had the polish on them, but it is easily removed using the Meguiar's Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant.

 Now here's a question...the back spats seem to fit perfectly and mould to the shape of the vehicle, but the front spats don't seem to contour anywhere near as good. When I had the 3000km checkup I mentioned it to the service manager who's reply was something like 'it's in the mouldings and can't be fixed' :( . Does anyone else have this problem?

:D I've now done 4500km and am having no troubles with my vehicle!

Has anyone else had the problem of the front spats not fitting correctly, or am I the only one? It looks like they have shrunk and no longer fit...if no-one else has experienced this, I guess I'll have to do some heavy duty whinging to Ford!

Also, where my member profile is, I've noticed that I have 'Member Warning Level' written...what is that?
