Car Shakes For Few Secs When I Floor It.

I have a 03 BA xr6t with the T5 manual and I noticed the other day when driving on the highway in 5th gear and I put my foot down the car would shake (as if it's missing) for approx 2-3 secs then it would come onto boost and take off. The car has no mods and is completely stock with 76000kms on it. I'm just wondering if this is normal because the revs are just over 2000rpm at 100km/hr in 5th gear so shouldn't it already be on boost? If I changed down the 4th it only does it for 0.5 secs. It seems like it has to build up boost for a few secs before it kicks in. I'm pretty new to turbo cars so maybe someone on here can explain what is happening.

By the way I recently changed the fuel filter, air filter and all thr rest for the 75 000km service so they are nice and clean.

cheers

Nah won't do it if I launch it, I just get the traction control light flashing at me.

It pulls hard at high rpm and only seems to happen between 2000 - 2500 rpms...

ok, in that case it must be a coil braking down, the coils have a tendancey to sh*t out,

u can get a set of 6 off ebay for like 150ish

id do plugs and coils and u should be right

pretty co mon,

what the rest of u guys recon?

I though about changing the plugs but I read in the book to do them at 105 000kms and mine's only at 76 000, although I guess they could be stuff.

I read through all the receipts in the glove box (from the guys I bought it off) and at the 45000kms service it says it had a rough idle and the problem was found to be a carbon build up. Where would this have been? Since I've owned it (approx 4months now) it has idled fined at approx 1.6l/hr. I've be interested in finding out where the carbon build was and would like to clean that area again. I also recently changed the O2 sensor but that didn't fix it

possibly in the throttle body, only efecting idle

or as I have seen with a couple of holden(opel astras) carbon biuld up on the valves, as the valves turn in the head it causes bad idle also but unlikely to fix your issue at 2500 when throttle is open and valve are opperating fast- u wouldnt notice it,

anyone else?

thanks for your help so mike, I just wanted to guage whether the shaking (cause its not that bad unless you put your foot down at 2000rpm and are in top gear) was normal but I guess its not. It won't happen if I'm in say 1st or 2nd and I plant it at 2000rpms so its a hard one for figure out. Acutally I noticed it was worse going up hills so I guess its struggling under load.

uphills underload, mate definatly sounds like coils!
