Noticed a clunk from new in my ute, it happens when under no load and coasting you just tap throttle there is a definite clunk.

Took it to Ford the other day and found bolts holding diff on were a bit loose so they thought that was the cause. After driving out of the dealers it was still doing the same noise so back I went today. A new diff has been ordered under warranty as they diagnosed diff backlash. Posting this in case some other FG owners may have the same symptons. Dont know what the quality control is like in the Diff Shop, My B.A. had 2 diffs replaced with bad whining noise so I hope my FG doesnt go down the same path as im happy with everything else with it after 5000 km.

damn..wow so they actually will replace it if its due to "diff backlash" ?

I thought the rear clunking was just somtihng fords do n we had to deal with it lol.

if its fixable I think I outa bring my car into ford b4 the warrenty runs out !!
