August 19, 200818 yr #11 Mine clunked and creaked for ages, but the creak after 4 goes with Ford, I fixed myslef with a few bucks worth of grease. The clunk will most likely end up my problem as well. But dont forget, "Nobody knows your Ford like they do".I.B.
August 19, 200818 yr #12 I have the clunky driveline as well. I've tried fixed outside warranty with aftermarket parts, although its reduced it I can still notice it.You won't acheive anything taking your car back to ford apart from getting angry, and bullsh*t run a round stories. If it sh*ts you that much sell it and buy something else. Or put up with it. I'm slowly learning to live with mine.
August 19, 200818 yr #13 I have the same issue in my BA 1 xr6t. Clunks when I shift, when I slow down and take off. Not happy.this is DEFINATLY a shagged diff bush mate. time to get a new one! I think its around $360 fitted at ford.
August 19, 200818 yr #14 Author this is DEFINATLY a shagged diff bush mate. time to get a new one! I think its around $360 fitted at ford.Funny that....Ford have told me $900 fitted numerous times.... (Not that ive payed as its warranty)
August 19, 200818 yr #15 it is around $800-$900 fitted at ford. (as I was quoted twice)I went aftermarket, and had a local mechanic fit it for $400 cash.I would get the backlash checked on your CV joints, as per Mal woods advice thread.if it isnt this, check the diff bush whilst the car is on the hoist.
August 20, 200818 yr #16 My bro in law has a BF2 F6 and same issue as well....so much for a 60k carFord WILL be fixing mine permanently..... stay tunedor they will give me an FGDon't bank on Fraud fixing it or a new car ! I had a BF1 XR6T (7,000k's)that had cracked welds in the body (rear end) that would have needed the whole rear welded internally & no guarantee that it would stop the torsional groaning. No offer of a new car ! Now drive a VE SS & have no complaints. Had a BA XR8 before the T & it had problems too.
August 21, 200818 yr #17 If I buy an aftermarket one, where do you get them? And is it just the one diff bush or are there different types....
August 25, 200818 yr #18 this is DEFINATLY a shagged diff bush mate. time to get a new one! I think its around $360 fitted at ford.Definately the diff bush...same problem with mine...getting fixed shortly and mine has been out of warranty for nearly 2 yrsPrior to that, it was the CV joint
