Hi guys,

I am in love with the xr6 turbos and am purchasing a BA next month if I can find the right one.. Just a few questions some of you modders might like to answer.

I will be looking at modding to get around 300rwkw, and am just wondering exactly how these cars are to drive with that sort of power?

Exactly how quick are the xrt's with 300?

How would one run up against say, a 5.7ltr SS commo?

I will most likely be purchasing an APS phase 2 kit, and a process west stage 2 intercooler, is anyone running a similar setup?

Would this setup be good enough for 300rwkw?

Would I have to upgrade the fuel pump and wastegate?

Thanks alot for your time.

P.S If there is anyone in Melbourne with a 300rwkw XR6T I'd love to be a passenger for a spin to see how they feel!

WAAA HAHAHAHAHA -

A 300rwkw XR6T VS a 5.7ltr Commo. You will need a telescope to see him - looking out your back window!!

For 300 you will need - valve springs, cat, cooler, injectors, edit and custom tune... plus all the other things that might break/wear out with that power.

You will be looking at an 11-12 second car...

I have about 290rwkw and with that power it should run a low 12 ( It ran 12.55 with 40kw's less ) so they are pretty quick on the street.

They drive like stockies, until you boot them, and then its just hang on and enjoy the ride.

Where abouts in Melb are you because there are plenty of guys in town with that power or more.

Forget the Phase 2 as well - there are better ways to go.

There are TOO MANY ways to go! I thought I would save myself the hassle and just go with the phase 2. All of the different tuning ways you can do just confuses me.

Basically, I'm gonna buy the process west intercooler, and budget around another 5-6k to get me as near as 300 as I can get.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm in the Western Suburbs, not far from Melb Airport..

Is there much of a difference between the Process west Stage 1 and 2 intercoolers if im aiming at around 300rwkw?

What airbox setup are people running for this sort of power?

Is relocating the battery required?

This is kinda funny, everyone always says how will it run up against a 5.7L Late model camira yet in the same sentence there saying if I modify it and it's putting down 300rwkw OF COURSE your going to blow the 5.7L doors off the 5.7 even in the HSV only did around 300 flywheel Kw. However if you bolted up a turbo to the 5.7 well it would be bye bye xr6!.

Mate I ran my STOCK bf against a vy 5.7 with an exhaust and ate it!!!! it launched off the line but when I hit boost bye bye 5.7 the point with these cars is you spend $3000 on a xr6t, then spend $3000 on a ss5.7 see who comes out on top??? massive power gains easily with the xr6t.........
