Standard Front - Ssl Rears

I picked up some rear SSL Herrod springs second hand for $80, and popped them on last night to see how they went.

The car is fairly level, maybe slightly lower at the back, though... I expect there may be some settling.

Has anyone run this combination?

How much lower are SL fronts?

I will get some pics today.

I got SL front and SSL rear and the rear is still lower than the front, though some cars I have seen with the same setup are more level.

I think it has settled slightly today - but is actually fairly level.

just wondering what would be the advantage or gain for doing this????? wouldnt want to have a full car load....

When you lower a car - up to a point, it improves the handling. It achieves this by a lower centre of gravity.

Also - I like the look of it lower.

The car needs to be lower for my 4 wheel car trailer as well- the back was too high and tilting the trailer.

These springs are slightly stiffer - which should make up for the reduction in travel when carrying a load.

Hey -Fat-Tony, do you want to do a measure of the ground up to the guard lip for me on your car?

My front is 652mm and Rear 628 (Standard front and SSL rear)

Just interested to see how different it is.

Yeh - I have thought about rims - but... they cost plenty - tyres for 18s or 19s (my preferred sizes) are much more expensive.

I decided any mods I do to the car are to improve performance - no major mods for looks alone, and in fact, I like the stealthy look. My car looks standard, but so far has:

- Edit

- F6 CAI

- Lowered rear

- Uprated Sway Bars

- Twin plate clutch on order

- Larger Intercooler on order

- Boost and Mixture gauges to monitor edit

- Different spark plugs and gaps

The only other more non-performance mods - footwell lights, blue window switches, Ipod connection.

and PS - I happen to like the standard rims!
