Bonnet Protector On Ba Bf

Any you guys ever used the bonnet protector on the BA/BF. The clear plastic ones that are sold by Ford. It doesn't seem to cover much. How effective are they and Do you guys think it looks ugly?

I'm thinking about buying one.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, however if you are looking for a good used one then I have one for sale.

In my opinion driving around with plastic protectors on the car would be like making a Super Model wear a veil to protect herself from sunburn 24 hours a day. Sure - she wont be burnt - but nobody sees her face either.

You put one of those on.... get no stone chips - sell the car - someone else rips it off and benefits.

My car has done 40000k and the only chips are further up the bonnet anyway, I have touched up with a paint brush and some paint my brother made up for me.

My opinion - dont do it, same for weather shields above the window - practical, but look ugly.

Alternative option - get some 3M film applied - then it is almost invisible (except you see a join line).

I dont have 1.. and the only stone chip I have that isnt on the lower parts of the bumper (or on my cracked spotty) is right in the middle of my roof? from a truck I believe....

I saw one the other day that was painted to match the colour of the car- didnt look too bad

I had one on my AUII but I find that I don't have any stone chips where the bonnet protector sits anyway. I only get them in other places. Besides, I don't like the look of them.
