1 Amp Or 2?

im booked in to have my system upgraded this thursday, im running the non-premium sound and have already had the speakers replaced with alpines front and rear.

the next step (thurs) is to install a 4 ch alpine amp to run the speakers, but I was also thinking of getting a sub/s installed whilst there...what are peoples opinions on setting this up, should I:

- just keep the speakers running as is and have the amp just running the sub/s

- get an amp to run everything (my installer said alpine have a model that will do this)

- have 1 amp for the speakers and another 1 for sub

- or a completely different configuration?

any ideas from some audio guru's would be much appreciated :idunno:

depends on how loud you want to go really!

I am not a fan of those all-in-one amps, but that's just me. they are defn cheaper though!

a 4ch amp for speakers will not be suited to running 1 sub, you would probably want a mono class amp for that.

I think the best (albeit most expensive) setup is to have two amps..

that is what I will be installing when I get some speakers!

I would also recommend no amping your rear speakers as it is not worth it imo.. how often do you sit in the back lol! they are just for fill..

will get a better result from bridging your 4ch or buying a 2ch and only running the fronts off it.

best of luck!
