Grab Handles

Just a quick question. I am replacing my standard grab handles with the ones that have a satin chrome insert.

I have read on here that you have to heat up the pieces (studs) that hold the handle on with a soldering iron or butane torch, to remove the current handles.

If this is the case how do you then put the new ones on? Do you have to melt the new studs on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
