LTSBGY Member 259 Member For: 19y 3m 28d Posted 15/10/06 12:05 PM Share Posted 15/10/06 12:05 PM I have about 270-280 rwkw with T5 and stock clutch. I noticed this faint rattle happening in third gear without even flooring it. This rattle became more louder and started happening in 3rd 4th and 5th and just today this rattle became loud and sounded more like a grinding noise and I could feel it in the stick. If my box is going, wouldnt my clutch have gone first?ThanxNesh Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/29302-can-a-gearbox-break-before-the-clutch-goes/ Share on other sites

Might have been the rev dump with traction control on Or you could have a dud box ect Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/29302-can-a-gearbox-break-before-the-clutch-goes/#findComment-449524 Share on other sites

They dont call them "the glass box" for nothing... Time for a T56 champ.
