Ive put little dobs of weld on the ends of each pipe for the clamps to grip on, works well. Your right, pipes blowing off is dam anoying

Hi Rapid,

Good to see you thinking outside the square.  I'm sorry to be the one to burst your bubble.  But I tried that 2 years ago and it failed.  You will end up going back to your original design which I also did 2 years ago.

I'm not trying to be a smart arse  . So I'll tell you the areas that will let you down with the N/A setup.

Firstly you will find the factory rubber seal will pop and leak boost pressure if your running anymore than 8 psi.  It is only glued to the plastic resonator.  Secondly you will also find that the metal plumbing will keep working it's way loose from the other end and keep popping out.  This can be very embarasing if it comes of at the wrong time and you have your arse handed to you when you have no boost.  It will also leave a little pimple in your bonnet.  It comes apart with a bang  That is why I made this one up and bolted it to the factory plenum using existing holes.

If you don't believe me, keep flooring it in second or third gear from low speed making the turbo boost hard under heavy load conditions with your high boost map.  You will eventually hear a little pop from under the bonnet.  You will then notice a drop in performance. 

Much better reliablilty using you metal setup

I do realise the factory seal won't be upto the job. It's to be replaced.

And all piping has/will have 'lips' for the rubber piping and silicon joiners to clamp to. Won't be an issue

Just waiting to get my car back so I can have a play and put it all together and see how it goes.

Don't mean to hijack your thread RAP1D, but just thought I'd post my progress as it shows a different way of doing the job.

Only dummy fitted atm as I'm waiting on some silicon bends to turn up before I fit the cooler, but the engine bay side of the house is pretty well squared away.

Got a free battery tray (Thanks Kent!) and the battery has been moved over to the passenger side. Getting it wired up tomorrow.

AVO airbox, turbo pipe and K&N filter is in.

So, using the 2 1/2 inch 180 degree bend supplied with the Hybrid kit to get off the intercooler and under the headlight. (Boost sensor plumbed onto this pipe.) Then a 2 1/2 to 3 inch 90 degree bend onto the 3 inch 304 pipework in front of the battery. 90 degree bend over the top of the battery then 3 inch 304 up to the 3 inch factory flex pipe. Onto the NA induction resonator, around to the T/B. BOV is plumbed into the resonator.

Might have to get some heavy duty clamps for the T/B but everything else should hold tight ok.

Anyway, just another way of going about it for anyone's interest. Whether it holds up to 12 psi of boost is yet to be seen though

Hey RAPID looking good mate, did a plenium cross your mind? it would of saved alot of that stuffing around with the bend into the throttle body.

Is it all done now? one more thing what sort of mods do you have?

Yeah I plan to make a plenum later on, and it's sort of fininshed but not really as I'll keep playing around with diferent pipes and cores for awhile.

I'm going to take it all off soon and fit a larger cooler mainly for that big front mount look lol
