Hey guys,

New to the posting in the forums but I've been reading them for a long time to get an idea of what I want to do with my girl. It's almost off lease now so I have a world of opportunity and the first step is getting a decent set of brakes to pull up quick. I plan to go APS phase 2 or equivalent (maybe 3 when the adrenalin wears off) and I was wondering what brakes are sufficient for power like that and mag sizes to accomadate for the size of the brakes ? Also good guys to deal through (Brisbane/ Townsville QLD) ?

Currently deciding between 19 Hp design (shadow chrome) and Zenetti Kaotics (the nice black ones). As a 'rapid' xr6t driver I can only dream of owning a set of 19 phoon wheels...

Your opinion would be good.

Cheers

Unless you want your 19" rims to looksh*thouse cause of the big gaps between the rotors and the rim, get 18's or bigger brakes...

360mm rotors as a min in 19" wheels.

yeah cause everyone who upgraes to 19's is forced to spend an extra 4G on big brakes to "fill the ugly gaps..."

get real

I think the advice in regards to getting brakes first is a good one - you need to be careful of offsets as well as diameter for you wheel upgrade.

As for chasing more power - the first step should be edit, injectors and valve springs - then an intercooler.

I love the Nizpro Cobra kit, and would highly recommend this if you want to go the kit direction.

The APS gear is good quality, but many of the Cats have failed - mine included (I started with an APS phase II). Of the APS phase II kit (which cost me $5k) the only thing left on my car will be the exhaust Cat back shortly. This is a VERY expensive exhaust.

I would look at cat only first, then dump pipe if going down the exhaust path...

The stock unit works well bar perhaps the cat...

Best of luck! :spoton:

Ben.

Not forced...but it will look sh*thouse if not. My opinion.
